Hello!

We are headed out in 1 week!!!!!!! Yay!!!! Our youngest son has sensory issues so we usually skip Illuminations because of the noise. We attempted to view them on the balcony of Rose and Crown last year, however the moment the noise started, he freaked so I ran him inside. Is there a restaurant in which we can view them from a window without hearing the fireworks and such?

I really would hate for us not to try it one more time.

Thank you for your suggestions!

There are several quiet spots near Canada that are not crowded with people. We love the view from there.

Have you tried earplugs for the fireworks? They come in really cute colors & he could pick one color or mix & match two colors to feel special with. (Be sure to have extras with you in case he loses one.)

I don't know with sensory issues how he would take to the earplugs, but it is worth a try. :goodvibes

My son uses the ear muffs that people use for shooting. Can get them in sports stores. It enables him to take control. It's the only way we got him to start watching illuminations comfortably. He takes them off now at certain parts since after so many viewings he can predict the quiet parts.
We have watched the fireworks from inside the Japanese restaurant. We had window seats and there wasn't much noise, but they didn't dim the lights and there was a lot of reflection that kept us from seeing the fireworks very well.
We haven't been inside of the new Mexican restaurant on the water. Don't know what it's like. We too sat outside at the Rose and Crown. It was okay but loud and that night a little smokey.
HAve fun.

On this website go to THEMEPARKS EPCOT MAP OF EPCOT

at the end of Future World and before World Showcase, find the Odessey Center. This is a very low traffic area to watch Illuminations. It won't be the best view ( you can't see the show of the Earth from the lagoon) but you get the fireworks and you shouldn't be amidst crowds of people.

I've used this as a meeting place a few times during Illuminations when other family members wanted to do TestTrack and it was so easy to find each other.

Hope you have a great timepixiedust:

We have stood over by Test Track- the sound was much lower (you can't really even hear the music... if that bothers you, you could maybe load the Illuminations music to an ipod to plug into and listen to, just a thought?).

my DGD has sensory issues as well so we actually got her the Illuminations CD and other Disney music CD's. She has her own ipod now and listens to her own music and she can do so many things she couldn't before. Shetunes things in or out at her choice! Now she actually helps cuts grass at home and that would have never happened before. !!!!
