Quiet place for a teen

We are going to be cruising later this year, and my daughter will be 15 at the time. We have done DCL before, and she isn't too interested in the teen club. She would just as soon hang out with us on deck and read a book or draw in her sketch book (she is an aspiring animator). So, since she isn't old enough for the cove area, what is a quiet spot we can all hang together but still get some sun sitting on a deck chair? Thanks in advance for any good advice.

The way I see it, you answered your own question: sit on a deck chair on one of the decks in the sun. You have sailed DCL before, I'm thinking you probably saw the decks and the chairs. That is where you would go!

Have fun!

No, I won't ignore your comments... at least you responded to my post and actually tried to make some suggestions.
As for PrincessShmoo and IceskatingPrincess, I get that you are veterans on the Disboards and all, but I noticed neither of you had any good suggestions to make in concerns to my original question, only gripes about bbel's post. Get over yourselves and try offering something positive rather than just attacking other people's threads, otherwise you really aren't part of the solution.

Thanks everyone else for all the great suggestions. They are greatly appreciated and we will definitely use them.
I didn't feel it was necessary to make any recommendations, as you received quite a few (of the ones I would have mentioned) from others - m3owbox, Geomom, Club Disney Chandler, Quellman, Anchors Away 2016 all had great responses.

I also feel, you'll find (by yourself) places that will work. I can also recommend Cabanas during non-meal hours.

Being "part of the solution" also involves make sure incorrect information isn't given out as good information. I was just surprised that a CM would endorse violating protocols.

Your daughter sounds a lot like my daughter! The only time she went to the Edge was when they were doing organized activities like animation cells or cooking, etc. As others mentioned, there are quiet spots on deck 4, and some quieter areas on the higher pool deck. She also enjoyed finding a quiet chair in the atrium area to read when activities weren't going on.

When part of the solution is suggesting someone break the rules, then the solution isn't really a solution, and I applaud those who would point out that the rules are what they are for a reason and should be followed.

Additionally, I think you'll find that the ones you're complaining about don't spend all their time "attacking other people's threads" but instead *do* offer something positive pretty regularly.

Well, this escalated quickly. Welcome to the Dis! popcorn::

I'm sure your DD will find a lovely place. You have gotten some great suggestions already, which without knowing precisely which ship you were on, I would not have been able to provide. Your own verandah if you have one is another good option.

Have a nice trip, OP.

Make that ex-CM, as of about two hours ago. Sorry think that's why I've been a bit anxty, tomorrow was my last chance to hand in my notice without having to return and do it onboard... it's been a really hard decision and something I really didn't want to do, but something I need to do.
