Quiet little table for 2??
Hi All! Me and my DH will be visiting the World in September for our 25th Anniversary! This will be our first visit minus the kids and I was hoping for some good suggestions on romantic/quiet restaurants on site to eat at. I would like to stay away from signature if possible.

Thanks bunches!!

First off, I hope you both have a fabulous time! :cutie: Second, this is a challenge ::yes:: that I am happy to try and tackle; romantic and quiet but not signature, I'll think hard. And now, some suggestions:

MK area-
Kona- Not a very quiet place, but it has IMHO potential for a great romantic breakfast (especially if you go after the park has opened and it's not as busy)
Grand Floridian Cafe- Anything at GF is going to have a touch of romance, but this location (especailly for lunch) is often overlooked and thus has a better chance of being quiet

MGM/DHS area-
Mama Melrose- This is a controversial choice because the merits of this location are constantly debated on these boards, but I still believe that it could be a quiet and romantic location if timed correctly with a late dinner
Sci-Fi- This is more of a playfully romantic location that is also rather controversial for the foodies, but come on, who wouldn't want to relive some of those teenage backseat makeout sessions?
Fresh- This one is at the Dolphin hotel but has a quiet no kids area that you can request for a quiet relaxing brunch or lunch
Kimonos- At the Swan, as long as you get there before the karaoke (unless you want to be serenaded by your beloved ;) ) I'd also recommend this location as a nice place for two

Epcot area-
San Angel Inn- Controversial yet again, this location isn't everybody's cup of tea, but if I were trying to have a romantic evening it's where I would go. Nothing goes better with romantic passion than spicy food and low lighting
Teppan Edo- Nearly always quiet and if you get a table overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon it could very well be romantic as well
Chefs de France- I would recommend getting the first table of the day for a quiet and romantic lunch

I sure there are many that I've left out, but here's a start. :thumbsup2

Great suggestions. DH & I will also be at Disney in Sept for our 15th and we made ADR's for Grand Floridian Cafe, San Angel and Sci-Fi. We also wanted to stay away from the signatures.

OP - Happy 25th and have a wonderful trip! :)

off topic...I live in palmyra TOO!!!

I grew up in Palmyra, NJ:goodvibes One day I would love to go to Palmyra Island in the Pacific!

My hubby and I love the California Grill but yes it is 2 table credits. Also lunch at Chefs de France can be quite nice. I would ask Disney dining for help. They may have some good advice as well. Enjoy your trip sans kids:thumbsup2

These are great suggestions!!! This is why I love it here!!:worship:

California Grill, make reservations one hour before the fireworks, and then arrive early to request a window table with a view of the castle. They turn down the lights & pipe the music in, it's very romantic.

Also, Rose & Crown overlooking the water is nice

I grew up in Jersey...moved to Palmyra about 5yrs ago.

California Grill is signature but that is where we will be for our 25th (also in September! the 3rd to be exact!!!) for a 9:20 seating to be there during the fireworks. I don't know the reason for avoiding sig dining but if you are going to plan one special dinner for the anniversary, I would suggest this one! We did it for our 15th and they were wonderful to us! Congrats!!!!! :yay:

No problem! I've gotten so many great suggestions myself (for a quiet drink that went horribly wrong :rotfl: ) that I just had to send some along. :)

Bistro de France is relatively quiet ... although both the quiet and the romance are tough to come by with all the families. Not that I'm complaining ....

Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot was a nice quiet experience for us. The food was great and it is sort of off the beaten path. The garden at Yakitori House (counter service) in Japan is quite relaxing and a good respite, too. We also like to sit at the bar at Yak and Yeti and have drinks and appetizers. There is usually no one there and it is quiet.

Depending on your resort, you might have a good place there.

I wouldn't consider Marrakech a "quiet table for two" spot. It is very wide open, tables are close together, and there is live music and a bellydancer performing periodically. I love it there, and recommend it, but not for what the OP is asking for.

I recommend Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian for dinner. It was probably the "quietest" most "feels just like the two of us" of any dining experience we have had on property. We have eaten at Cali Grill, and the view up there of the fireworks can't be beat, but it is an open kitchen and large open space that is not that dimly lit, so it doesn't feel as intimate. At Narcoossee, the space is smaller, tiered, and dimmer. The view of fireworks here would be my second favorite place to watch from, and the meal was divine. Two tumbs up for good food AND "quiet table for two"!

We are doing Artist Point(WL) for our 25th in 15 days!!! i know its 2 ts though. We are doing OOP for this one and saving the credits for some other TS we are doing. if you want quiet and romantic the signatures are the way to go. Most families will not use 2 ts credits or OOP for these with kids(no offense). Sometimes i think Disney planned it that way to give some more adult experiences for some of us.

we are doing GFCafe'(never been) also for a breakfast and 1 dinner....

we are doing a mix this trip w/ our 16yr old DD and her best friend(our treat)...some with them and some alone.

GFcafe'
Boma
Artist point
WCC
Chef Mickeys
Ohanas
sci-fi
Crystal Palace

only thing for me to find is a special pc of jewelry!!!!!!!!!

Lots of great suggestions. But IMO, eat early or eat late. Avoid the heart of dinner time. Pre DDP, we were about the only ones in the downstairs French restaurant (and I can never remember which one that is). Then there's still time for dessert and movement to any fireworks or night show. I think we've done the same thing at Spoodles. But now with DDP, the game is much different. :(

After talking it over with my DH we will probably go for a signature and go crazy loud the rest of the trip!!!!:thumbsup2

Am I there yet??:hyper:

We chose Artist's Point for our 10th anniv this October. When I made the ADR, the CM told me to arrive 15min early and ask for a table by the windows. She made a special note about the anniversary.

Have a great trip!

Let me know how you like Artist Point and GFcafe'. I have not been to the Crystal Palace either but I hear Tigger hangs out there, so my DH might have to take a backseat for that!!
