I've just been to my TA with the quote I found yesterday and she said she couldn't beat it with it including the quidco discount.

She also said she couldn't see how they could offer 4% off and still make a profit.

Did I read quidco wrong? Or understanding it wrong?

Quidco says I will get 4% off if I book a holiday through Cosmos. There is a * but I can't see where the info is for that. The holiday I have found totals £3,427.20 with car.

So does this mean I will get £137.09 put into my quidco account? Meaning the holiday would actually cost me £3290.11?

That's pretty much how it works. The 4% may be before any VAT is added (not sure if this is applicable to holidays?).

Remember to treat Quidco as bonus though and not rely on the cashback to pay out. It's quite rare but sometimes cashback doesn't pay out. Also it may take a few months or more to get it paid into your account!

In the T&C's it states...

Cashback is only offered on the following products:
Summer Holidays
Lapland
Maldives
All Inclusive
Villas with Pools
Distant Dreams

Members should only use voucher codes listed on Quidco. If you use voucher codes that are not listed on Quidco your cashback may not track or be declined.

Cashback may only be paid on the basket value excluding VAT & delivery.

Ok, there is no voucher code, I'm just clicking the link on the quidco site to get to the cosmos one?

No worries about it taking ages, we don't go until next October so plenty of time and it's just a bonus :D My TA can only match the price so might as well go through quidco and I may get some money back :D

Thanks for the info :D

I get this all the time when I phone for quotes for insurance/AA cover etc. They can't believe that you get cashback for nothing and there's no 'catch'. If you went through Quidco to get to the Cosmos site, chances are you will get paid. Check to see if it has tracked under 'activity' in a couple of days.:)

Brill! I do loads of tesco shopping too so if I keep using it I can build up a good chunk :D

How long does it take to transfer to your bank once you've built up a good amount?

basically TA's will get a commission from the companies that they use for your holiday. By going through Quidco, the tour operators will pay this commission to Quidco (as opposed to the TA) who then pass it on to you. Discounts that TA's give you when you push them usually mean them eating into their commission whereas Quidco charge a flat £5 per annum fee per member and pass everything else (well, probably not all, but almost everything else) on.

So it's not that Quidco can 'beat' a price, they're just passing on the commission that the TA's need to keep to pay for their staff, shops etc.

From what I remember, you have to choose how much is in the kitty before you have it transferred to your account. For instance, you might want to wait until you have built up £20.:confused3

I always check Quidco before I buy anything! If only they would have Amazon on, I'd be quids in!;)

If you have a Nectar card use that for Amazon. Also its worth checking Topcashback as you can accept payment in Amazon e vouchers & they sometimes do deals like add 5% if you take the voucher as opposed to cash. Also there is no fee for Topcashback:thumbsup2

Do you mean a nectar reward card? :)

I used to use Quidco all the time but the time they have taken to pay out seems to have got longer and longer. I use Top Cashback mostly now as they are normally a little higher and I find they pay out faster.

Quidco pays every month as long as you have money to be paid, i have jut had some but different companies take differrent time to pay out, im still waiting on cashback from feb

Yes, if you do go through the Nectar site and got to collect points, choose Amazon & you get 1 point per pound spent, they sometimes do double or triple points.

There are other shops but I tend to go through cashback sites for them

That's great! I've only just got a nectar card so I didn't realise you could do that. Thanks!:goodvibes

I agree. I've just had a payout of £101.71 qhich was made up of £99.70 for Disney tickets I bought on the 2nd May after a tip off of a special 10% discount from wayneg (:worship:) and £2.01 from shoes DS bought on 29th May. These companies showed as tracked and paid on my quidco account. Still waiting on other purchases from as far back as March from other companies who have confirmed the purchase but obviously haven't paid out to quidco themselves. There are some serious discounts to be had and I now always check to see if I can buy anything for the same price (or cheaper) through quidco or Topcashback. Had payouts of £223.23 so far this year on things I would have been buying anyway. :thumbsup2
