My family is staying for the 1st time at Beach Club with two kids this spring. Was wondering if the bus is the quickest way to get to/from MK from that hotel (not renting a car). I thought I had recalled reading a thread about using the monorails/boats to get to another hotel and then switch mode of transportation so that it was quicker than using the bus. Hope this makes sense - thanks in advance for any help!!

I would say your better off taking the bus which goes to the Magic Kingdom, because it will drop you off very close to the ticket entrance.

Now you could also walk through Epcot however that's only good if you have park hopper tickets or an Annual Pass, because if you don't have those types of tickets you will lose a day on them and you won't be able to enter the Magic Kingdom that day without a park hopper ticket. Besides that from Epcot you would take the Monorail to the Transportation & Ticket Center, then from there you would take the Express Monorail or boat to the Magic Kingdom. So I would think that takes a lot longer then just taking the direct bus which goes there.

I would imagine just taking the bus would be quicker. If you take a boat to Epcot, you would still have to walk from the International Gateway to the front of the park to exit toward the monorail.

The best option to get to the MK is always by bus. The exception being if you are staying at one of the monorail resorts.

By taking the bus you bypass the TTC which requires that you either ride the monorail or the ferry. This can take a fair amount of time depending on the time of day.

It's about a 15 bus ride from the BC to MK. Add in 10 minute bus wait time (could be high, could be low), it will take about 25 minutes to get to the MK.

To go via Epcot and the monorail is much longer. It's 5 minutes to the IG entrance, 15 minute walk through Epcot to the monorail, 5 minute wait for the monorail, 10 minute ride to the TTC, 5 minute wait for another monorail and then 5 more minutes to the MK. That's about 45 minutes (and it could be longer), with lots of transportation switching.

I often return from MK to BC via the monorail and cutting through Epcot, but that is when I am not in a hurry to get somewhere.

I do have to agree. It's a lot longer if you go through Epcot to the Monorail to TTC.

Another way is taking the boat to Hollywood Studios, and catch a bus right to MK, may be a minute or two longer than going from the resort to MK.

You can catch a bus to the TTC but not straight to the MK and then have to take the monorail or fairy to MK- it is quicker to take the bus from the Beach Club.

Bus is the way to go BC to MK :thumbsup2

Now on the way back to BC, typically we return to the resort for an afternoon break, we like to take monorail to Epcot and walk through Epcot, maybe picking up fast pass for later on and then walk through International Gateway back to BC / YC.

Certainly, though if you want the quickest route, particularly in the morning for opening, bus is your best option.

I have to vote for the bus although we never tried any other route... :cool1:

We went to MK 3 times last visit when we stayed at the Beach Club and the bus was a very nice and quick ride! We made it for rope drop very easily by catching the bus at 8. Very little wait for the bus and never crowded (on the way there, anyway;)).

I cannot imagine walking through Epcot, taking the monorail to the TTC, then swithcing to MK monorail. That process would definitely take a minimum of an hour (probably longer) and you would need park hoppers!!! Epcot is so huge!!! And they wouldn't let you in Epcot before opening (that I know of) so you would miss rope drop at MK.:confused3

Thanks for the responses. Just wanted to make sure the bus was the quickest way! Thanks!!

Cheapest and fastest--Bus.

Expensive and quick--cab to CR and walk to MK.

Yep, if you just missed a bus or you wanted a more firm time the taxi to CR and walk to MK is pretty quick too.

Does anyone know how much the taxi would be from BC to MK? We have an 8 am breakfast ressie at CP and am concerned about getting there on time. Thanks.

It "should" be around $20.00.:)

REMEMBER to tell the taxi driver to take you to the Contemporary Resort. The taxis CANNOT go to the "front" of Magic Kingdom.

It is an 8 minute walk from the Contemporary Resort to the turnstiles at Magic Kingdom.:)

HAVING SAID THAT,you should have NO problems making your ADR.Disney buses will begin running at 6:30 AM from Beach Club to Magic Kingdom just for early ADRs.
