Quickest way to Expedition Everest

What's the shortest route? I've read a few times folks suggesting to head to EE first, get a FP and then trek to Klimanjaro Safaris but that looks like a lot of walking and backtracking. I am trying to set up the least amount of walking and getting the FP's for the major rides but I'm having a hard time getting down a good plan. Any suggestions?

They set it up that way on purpose. Yes, it's a lot of walking and backtracking, but what you give up in sore feet early is going to save you a LOT of time later in the day.

I read to go straight towards Asia, not through Dinoland. This route will put you nearest the FP tickets & the front of the line area.

Upon my two different visits I took the Asia route. It is much quicker, believe it or not. If you went through Dino Land, you would have to pass the old Tarzan Rocks building, go over the bridge, and continue until you get to the fast pass machines. If you go through Asia the fast pass machines are right there.

If you're there at rope drop, go through Asia -- there will be guides to slow the crowd down, but don't worry. The other route is not faster. The ride really can absorb a lot of people very quickly, and even if there is a large crowd in front of you, you'll zip through the queue so fast that you won't be able to appreciate the theming. Make sure you pick up a FP before you board, so you can return later. Save KS for later. We did EE and then Kali (sometimes the rapids opens later than EE), then I picked up FP's for KS and met the fam at Dinosaur. We were there at Easter and spent very little time on line. Have fun!
