Quickest route from OKW to Fort Wilderness

We're going to Mickey's Backyard BBQ for dinner one of the nights of our upcoming trip. Using the bus service from OKW, what is the quickest method? How much time should be give for transport? Thanks!!!

Turn left at OKW gate when you leave. Turn right at stoplight. Go to stoplight at T intersection and turn left. Go to campground entrance.

Since Mickey's BBQ is at the settlement (unless they've moved it) you might be best off taking the bus from OKW to MK and then the boat from MK to FW. That will drop you off at the settlement. Otherwise if you take an OKW bus to another park or to DTD then you'll be dropped off at the outpost and then need to take a FW internal bus to the settlement.

I'd at least allow an hour - probably a bit more - since you never know how the timing might be for the busses and boats.

THat's funny because that was the first thing I thought when reading the thread and wanted to add, it would take around 10 minutes. But then I saw the OP was using buses and there is nothing quick about buses, so guessing with the connections this would take at least 1 hour.

I was thinking by bus, maybe the OKW to the Studios and then the Ft. Wilderness bus from the Studios. As for coming home, that gets a little more complicated because the OP needs to see what is open in terms of using a park as a connection. If nothing is open, then the OP needs to bus to DtD and then back to OKW.

I concur with Kat4Disney that MK transportation, and then the boat to FW will work the best. I wonder if afterwards, the OP could use transportation provided to Hoop Dee Doo attendants where buses are waiting for each resort? Although I seem to recall that once staying at OKW, we were the last stop after POR and PO-FQ, and it was a loooooong bus ride.

FYI, we are members at OKW and our prized possession is a great guide we got from the guard at the resort gate. It give the quickest route from OKW to everywhere on property!!! I would ask if its available when you get to the guard house at check-in...it has been a great resource, because we have our car and drive almost everywhere during our vacations at OKW.

Take the bus to the MK, then the boat to Ft Wilderness. That's the easiest way using Disney transportation. If you take the boat to DTD, then the bus to FW, you will go to the main area, then have to take a second bus to the picnic area.

a) 10 minutes by car
b) 40 minutes by bus - OKW to BB/WS, BB/WS to Fort Wilderness
c) 48 minutes by bus - OKW to MK, MK to Fort Wilderness

But what is WS?? All I can think of is World Showcase. And the bus don't go there. And Blizzard Beach is a long way from OKW and not even close to Fort Wilderness.

That bus would be the AK/BB bus from OKW and that's a long way from Ft Wilderness. There is no Winterland Summerland/Blizzard Beach bus that doesn't go to AK from OKW.

That's just crazy. What do you do if BB is closed? You'd be better off taking the bus to Epcot and then from Epcot to FW and then take the bus from the main bus stop over to the picnic site.

Going from Resort to Resort is about the only time I drive when we stay on property. We did go to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review last week and didn't drive since we were staying at VWL.

So the best way for me to get to HDDR from AKV-K would be bus to AK then bus to FW...or...from AKV-K to MK, then boat to FW?

Bus to MK and boat to Ft Wilderness.

If you take a bus to FW, you have to take another internal bus over to HDDR.
