I am leaving for 9 days at Windsor Hills on Friday.

However I have to go back to MCO to pick up at friend whose plan lands at 5:20 on Friday night. I have 6:35 ressies @ Chef Mickey's.

What is the fastest way to get there and how long will it take?

Thanks!

Fastest way would be a Taxi I would have thought, about 25-30 minutes I would say, probably the traffic would be quite heavy at that time of day.

Thaggie,
I'm assuming you have your own car or a rental ? If so, take the Greenway SOUTH exit. Here's directions from allears site :

Directions from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Disney's Contemporary Resort:

Follow the signs for the South Exit from the airport to pick up SR417 South (also called the Central Florida GreeneWay) towards Disney World. Once on SR417, you'll have 2 toll plazas for $1 each. After the 2nd toll, take exit 6 (SR 536/International Drive). Go straight through two sets of traffic lights (first intersection will be International Drive; second will be SR535) which will put you on SR536. Continue straight on this road and go straight through the next set of lights. You will pass the Marriott Orlando World Center on the right and the Nickelodeon (formerly Holiday Inn) Family Suites on the left, then I-4.

Just after you pass I-4, you'll go under under the WDW welcome arch. The road becomes Epcot Center Drive. Gradually move over to the left hand lane. You will pass Epcot on your left. As you do, stay in the far left lane following the sign to the Magic Kingdom. When the road enlarges from a single lane to two lanes, get into the right hand lane. Take the first exit on the right (Magic Kingdom). You will now be on World Drive. Stay over to the right.

When you approach the Magic Kingdom parking gates, go to the furthest one operating on the right side. NOTE: do not go into the lane marked "Walt Disney World buses only". Tell the parking CM that you are going to check-in at the Contemporary. They will wave you through. Stay way over to the right and follow that small road. Follow that road straight through the set of traffic lights for about a mile. The entrance to the Contemporary will be on the right hand side. When you pull into the entrance, make sure you stay to the left side as you approach the security booth. They will direct you from there.

We just drove this way to the WL a few weeks ago. Took us about 30-35 min. You won't have much time to spare. Hope there's no delay with your friend's luggage. Have a great time :cool1:

can you change your reservation time to a little later. I would recommend at least 7:45. the airport is 35 minutes one way - add getting there and back and you see the problem.

if your friend is not waiting for you with luggage you will definitely miss your reservation.

I do have a car. I get in earlier in the day. I will pick her up at the curb at MCO. Hopefully she will have her luggage and be at the curb by 5:50 (that gives her 30 minutes if the plane is on time) and we will drive there and I will valet.

I can't move the ressies until later b/c the next available time is 9pm which is way too late for my 5 year olds.

I was just looking for the shorest route w/ the least traffic.

Thanks!
