DH, DD3 and I just came back from the weekend at Disney. We tried new (to us) places instead of our ol' standby's and since I use this board all the time to help with my planning, thought I would do a quick review in the hopes of helping someone else.

We stayed at CSR but drove directly in and arrived to AK at about 9:15am. Saw the Lion King Show (awesome) and went over to Rafiki's Planet before our 11:30am Tusker House ADR. I was looking forward to this as I am a vegetarian (DH and DD are not) and have seen some great looking veggie plates from there!

When we arrived at about 11:30, there were tons of people waiting outside. I checked-in and the hostess informed me they'd be opening in a few minutes. We were given a pager and waited about 10 minutes before being escorted inside. Some servers were still clearing about breakfast plates from tables but the buffet had all of the lunch offerings on it. Our server was running around but someone else stopped at our table to get our drink orders and tell us we were able to head up to the buffet.
For DD they had chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn dogs, mac and cheese and a PB&J. She had some mac and cheese and some rice and couscous. She also had a roll. She is a carb-o-voire. Like her mom :)

I had a small plate with samosas with mango salsa and pita bread with hummus and taboleuh. Everything on that plate was delicious! I LOVED the samosas, as did DH.

I also had a plate with veggies and baked couscous in a tomato sauce, an orzo dish with spinach, olives and feta. Both of those were my favorites and I went back for more. SO SO GOOD. I also tried the green beans, mashed potatoes, the rice topped with the tofu/veggie curry. I wasn't a huge fan of the tofu/veggie dish but I liked everything else. The cucumber salad and the apple/endive salad were delicious.

DH had everything that I had (except the tofu) and loved it. He also tried the pork (which he normally doesn't eat often [except bacon]) and said it was excellent, espeically with the sauce.

For desserts we all shared/tried: Choc. Chip cookie (DD loved, DH and I thought it was OK), Brownie cake (frosting good, cake was ehh), a donut (yum), lemon bar (yum), passion fruit tart (pretty good), Carrot cake triangle (I didn't have this, DH said it was good) and we both LOVED the cinnamon bread pudding with vanilla sauce.

We were SO impressed with Tusker House Lunch. The food was fresh and SO flavorful. Normally we aren't big fans of buffets but we really loved all of the food. It was well seasoned, hot, and delicious. Service could have been better (empty glasses, dirty plates) but it was OK. We would definietly recommend it and will for sure return.

We were SO full the rest of the day (I don't know how people do the DxDP! :) ) We almost cancelled our Kouzzina dinner ADR. I am so glad we didn't. On our last trip we ate at Kouazzina for breakfast and LOVED it. We were excited to try it for dinner. Our ADR was for 6:40pm , we checked in at about 6:35pm and were seated about 15 minutes after that. It was busy but once you were seated, it didn't feel overly crowded. Our server here was wonderful and we had a few special requests that we asked about and he said "Of course, it's Disney, you can have whatever you'd like".

For DD we asked if she could do the 3 course kids meal with the pizza instead of the Greek Lasagna or Grilled Chicken that it is offered with. So DD got chicken noodle soup, pizza and then a make your own kids pizza for dessert.
The soup looked SO fresh. DH tried it and said it was a little bland but DD ate a little bit and seemed to like it. Her pizza could have used another minute or 2 in the oven but it was really very good! They cook it in thier wood oven so it had great flavor. The dessert was SO cute and SO good. They gave her a big sugar cookie (which was delicious, soft and super sweet and yummy), with strawberry "sauce", strawberry slices '(pepperoni)" and shaved white chocolate ("cheese"). She had SO much fun making it and it was delicious.

Since I was still full from lunch I had the spanakopita appetizer and sweet potato fries (my favorite). The spanakopita was great. It was flaky and cooked perfectly, not oily at all. It came with a small mix of tomato/olive/onion salad at the bottom. DH thought it was strange that the salad was served chilled under the hot item but I didn't mind it. Both of us thought it was delicious. The fries were OK, typical sweet potato fries.

DH ordered the trio: stewed chicken w/rice, moussaka, lamb burger. He doesn't eat lamb so he asked if he could get double lasagna in place of the lamb. This was no problem. He loved both but said he liked the chicken a little more.

They give you amazing sesame bread to start along with some kalamata olives and 2 olive oils for dipping. All 3 of us LOVED this.

Overall, we really like Kouzzina for dinner. VERY good food, excellent service. We would recommend and return.

The next morning were headed for MK. We had wanted to stop and get breakfast at WPE which for some reason, I thought opened at 7am for bkfst. It doesn't. Found out the hard way :)

We got back in the car and drove over to the T&TC and took the monorail over to the Poly to try some Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks. Captain Cooks was busy but I expected it to be a bit more crowded for 8:15am. We used the little kiosk computers to order (love that) and got a Tonga Toast and a Kid's Mickey Waffle with stwarberry sauce and paper bacon to all share. We had never been there before and although it wasn't that difficult to figure out how everything works (the ordering, pager, etc.) I thought it could be made a bit more clear. I overhead some other people talking about that as well. We waiting a while for a food (not too long but longer than I expected for a quick service) The Tonga Toast was very good. Especially dipped in the strawberry sauce. I am really picky (esp. about fruit) so I ate around the banana part which appeared to have turned brown. The Mickey Waffle was OK. DH said the bacon was very thin and not so good. Breakfast was a good value for what we got and if we stayed at the Poly, we would eat there again.

We arrived at MK and went on some rides and then were planning to stop for a snack before heading to EP. At about 10:30 we tried to stop at Main Street Bakery but the line was SO long. We went over to the confectionary and shared a chocolate chunk cookie. I used to Love Selma's cookies (the company that makes those big chunk cookies) when I lived in Orlando so I was excited to have one again. It wasn't as good as I remembered (as with most things) but still very good.

Once in EP we went over to the Bakery in France so I could get the choclate beignet that I fell in love with on out last trip. DH chose a chocolate croissant and I got 3 donuts (2 to bring home). We went to sit outside to eat and I was SO disappointed to find all 3 donuts were cold and hard! :( They were still pretty frozen! I took them back inside and they lady didn't apologize or anything, just looked at me. I then asked if they had any fresh ones, they didn't. So I asked to just return them. I was so disappointed. DH thought the croissant part of the chocolate croissant was very good but it had the tiniest little morsel of chocolate in it. So overall, was disappointed in the bakery.

On the way out, we stopped at Fountainview and shared an ice cream cookie sandwich. Chocolate chip cookies and mint choc. chip ice cream. The cookies could have been more fresh but really, you can't go wrong with cookies and ice cream sandwiched together.

That's it...just a quick weekend filled with millions of calories :) They were worth it!

I am so glad to hear another great review for Kouzzina. I will be having dinner there on the 17th. I have also been wanting to try Tusker House lunch. I have to work that into my October dining plans.
