If I post a question, is there a way to find them quicker than going back to the thread and scrolling down to see if I got any responses?

yes there is. when you post a question scroll down to the bottom right under the icons to "additional options" click "do not subscribe and choose however you want to be notified. you can choose to get emails. for all of the except "do not subscribe", when you go to "user cp" it will notify if you've been replied.
