Im totally in a pickle.. we plan on doing a quick 4 day trip and staying at AKL. We are a family of 4 with 2 DS (3&7), They want to do EVERYTHING!!! We usually stay for an extended amount of time and usually have a few pool days, disney springs, etc. I know we wont be able to do EVERYTHING... but I need help started. We will have a Park Hopper. For those of you that have had this length with kids- what have you done?

in 4 days, and staying at AKL, you are definitely doing a day at AK, MK and Epcot. The question is what to do with that 4th day. With most of HS under renovation, you aren't missing a whole lot by not going there... but... are your kids Star Wars fans? Guessing not at 3&7 but if they are maybe spend half a day there to do launch bay. Personally, unless there is something there you have your heart set on, I would skip HS and make up the 4th day with your pool time and either half a park day or Disney Springs.

I would do at 2 days MK, and one each at AK and EP. Since you have hoppers, you could always spend a half day at HS on one of your MK days if you wanted. Disney Springs is never high on our list, and on a short trip, I would skip it entirely and fit in some pool time instead.

It really depends on your priorities. I would not skip HS just because of the construction. I doubt your family will miss any of the attractions that closed (except possibly the playground, but I doubt that). If you have Star Wars fans I would try to work HS in. You could easily split HS and AK into a day if you skip the longer shows.

Having hoppers, you might consider splitting a day between Epcot and DHS. To echo others, it depends on what your family likes.

Just took a quick trip in January. We were in the parks for 3.5 days, trip was me + 2DD. Before our trip, we talked about what our "must dos" were, and everyone picked one for each park. Then we talked about what we could skip- rides and shows we enjoy, but prepared to miss due to time. We made some tough choices!! So glad we had those conversations at home before the trip. Finally, we picked at least one new thing to do everyday. This was our 6th trip, but there are still things we haven't tried! That seemed to be key for making a short trip magical.

We ended up spending one day in each park, with DHS as our half day/departure day. To maximize park time, I purchased the Wishes dessert party, Plaza Garden view. Expensive, but nice view and allowed us to do more in our 1 park day.

Hope these ideas help! 3.5 days or 10 days- our visits are never long enough!
