quick trip,universal, express pass

sorry if this is in wrong place, have never done more than reply,,, not real tech savvy.... after twenty years, of yearly trips, my wife has decided, with rising cost, cut backs, less value for the money,,, to take a year off of Disney,, something I never thought would happen.... I actually didn't go last year... was just not happy after 2014 trip,,,, we will be back for sure... already planning 2017 trip.... but I digress not what this post is about.... With her annual pass, to universal, cheap flights right now, we are looking at 4 days at universal... cabana bay, flights, my park admission, hotel, for about $1100 dollars.... we have been to universal many times but always stayed at hotels where we had express pass, staying at cabana bay we won't have express pass but I am thinking going 23 to 26 of April that they will not be that important.. especially as we wont be going crazy bout rides, more of a laid back trip... has any one been this time of year. what do you think, can we get by without express pass at this time of year????
