Just decided to make a quick trip to the Darkside, know we don't need to do as much planning as going to WDW, really why we picked Universal... Do have a few question's.. Going when we are we don't think we will need express pass... Have been to Uni many times but have always stayed at one of other three hotels, so had express, just DW and I this trip and with her annual pass we got a heck of a deal at Cabana.. so staying there. Going April 23 thru 27, will we really need express, this is just a laid back trip, don't do big roller coasters, but most everything else..

Thought we might stay at one of other for one night in the middle if we really need express, but would rather not have to move

Also what is best way to get to parks from Hotel, walk or ride bus? Thanks for any help!!!!

I haven't stayed at CB yet so I can't help much. Hopefully a mod will move this over to the Resort Forum as you will probably get a lot more answers over there.

Bus takes about 5 min., walking about 15.

With just the two of you, I would do single rider if the lines get long.

Mod here
since the op needs info time and way to travel from Cbay to the parks, anyone here could help out with that information.
the need of express for their dates is a common question asked by many.

there have only been 8 posts in March and a 9th with a picture so far this month in the CBay thread.

Not as much activity happening in that sticky lately.

the op wil get more reads for his two questions in this forum.
but with your help, he has found his answers!

I don't know about whether you need Express, but I don't think they sell out except the very busiest days. So you can probably try it without and get it if you need it. You can get so much done if you get there at opening and follow a good touring plan that I think you'll be fine without it. As far as the bus or walk, definitely ride the bus. The bus service is really efficient. I'm not exaggerating when I say that we did not wait more than 3 minutes for one, and most of the time there was one waiting for us. The walk is nice but it's not short. It's been a while so I can't remember exactly but I think it took us about 25 minutes or so.

We love Cabana Bay. DS7 loves the pools so much we have a hard time getting him to go to the parks. We really love the suite with the mini kitchen.

Bus from cabana bay is great - never waited, nice organised lines for bus, 5 mins drive and drops you near escalators at city walk.

We have stayed at Cabana Bay (CBR) a couple of times having previously stayed at Royal Pacific with express. While the bus service from CBR is quick, they do drop you off at the parking garage. On weekends it tends to be very busy getting through security from the parking garage. Security from either Royal Pacific or Cabana usually has zero wait time. If you first park is Islands, the walk from CBR takes about the same about the same as the bus/security.

Weekday mornings are usually not too bad so express is that big a deal. Enjoy!

Such fun theming-I wanted to take everything home with me! You'll enjoy it thoroughly.Have fun!
