We're planning a 5 day trip. It'll be myself, my 17 yo son who is autustic, my friend and her two granddaughters-6 and 8. Everyone but the granddaughters have been there 7 or more times. We will be on the dining plan(snack, counter, table per day)
We are thinking about mainly characters buffets for dinner for the table service part of the plan. Definitely on the list is Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey, possibly the Norway dinner. My son definitely has the teenage appetite and we want the girls to have money's worth of food, not just the chicken fingers/mac and cheese.
Is the Norway dinner a buffet and have more American food on it? My son loves attention from girls so he'll be in his element with the princesses if they will interact with him (I took him to the palace bkft when he was 7 and nonverbal and he had his autograph filled with kisses from the princesses, in the pictures he had a huge smile).
Prime Time may be out because of the girls being shy.
Liberty Tree Tavern is probably out-too Thanksgiving-like for early November.
Is there still a GF character dinner-what is the food like?
If not buffets, at least good food that will appeal to the kids-we can find something on the menu for us.

Where are you staying?

Norway doesnt do it for me after checking the menus from allearsnet (except for breakfast, the first seating for breakfast is 8:30)

1900 Park Fare at dinner - :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Prime Rib, Strawberry soup, lots of kids choices, salads, soups, and desserts - it is at the Grand Floridian, and a character meal (Cinderella and friends - I hear her stepsisters come around!!)

I have to say I dont care for LTT - but my dd loves it - I dont get the Thanksgiving feel as much as I get a character interaction feel - and we go because dd (12) likes the food!! and its all you can eat - they bring the food to you, which is a nice change from having to walk little ones up to buffets all the time...

Ohana - all you can eat and they bring food to you - reading these boards today it sounds like the meal is changing again!! When dd was young she loved participating in the coconut races, but didnt care for the food too much - lots do love it tho!

Crystal Palace - Buffet and Pooh, and dd is too old for Pooh, but again, she liked the food!! and wouldnt mind doing it again - I loved the cheese and the desserts, as well as the shrimp!!

Cape May (outside of Epcot) we enjoyed the seafood and meats here - I noticed many of the same desserts as Crystal Palace - no characters for Dinner....

You might want to take a look at the menus at Garden Grill (Living with the land/epcot) as that has characters, and the moving seating area

Have FUN planning!! :wizard:
