I have a few hours and a free park to park pass and would like to tour the Potter area. No rides other than HW Express. What are the lines like for HWE? Also, how long is that ride from park to park?

Hi it depends on when you are going day and time. Mornings are the best time to spend in the HP worlds. There are a lot less people and you can enjoy it more. The HW express can get long. At least 45-60 minutes without express. We always have an express pass so the most we have waited is about 15-20 minutes. If you are going to be in the park later in the day till closing then the HP worlds are better then. From like 11- an hour or two before closing it is busier. The ride is maybe 10 minutes and it is a different experience both ways. We love HP worlds and can spend hours in there.

My kiddo is in FL for a school trip- Universal yesterday. Hogwarts Express was 10-20 minutes until about noon. Then 80 minutes until around after 6. The ride is about 5-10 minutes.

The lines for HWE really vary depending on the time of year [off season vs peak season]. We have waited only 15 mins or up to 45 mins. if I could only do one HP park, it would probably be Diagon Ally (DA)...especially if you are not doing rides. DA has the Weasly Joke shop, Olivanders, quidditch shop, magical menagerie, Gringotts bank where you can talk to the goblins, Leaky Cauldron, the Hoping Por [for butter beer], more stores, knockturn Ally , madam malkins, nightbus [right outside the entrance to DA.

Over in Hogsmeand they have Honeydukes, a shop with books and souvineers [I forget the name] and Three Broomsticks. It has less shops and things to see. I am probably forgetting a few things here....

The HWE is a really cool ride. It is liek really being in teh HP world....

have fun!

Wait times vary, as everyone has discussed. Ride time is about 5 minutes I believe, I think I clocked it at like 4 minutes for actual transit time. But there is loading and unloading time.
