Quick thoughts on recent Universal trip

I think what is nice about UO is that you can do parks in the morning, get a lot done with the ee and the ep, then spend time at the resort and relaxing at the pools. You can pool hop if you want even. Evening time you can do a mini golf at CW, or BMG, bowling at CB. And everything is so close, most places you can walk between, or take the boats. And for CB there is a shuttle bus.

And so many places to eat- at the parks, the resorts and CW.

I guess you can be bored, but just like at WDW, if you do a little research about UO, you will find so much to do and see and experience.

The counter service at UO I think is better than at WDW, and the TS is easier to get into without getting your heart broken.

Although a trip to UO does not require the amount of planning that a trip to WDW does, a little planning and knowing what all is out there to experience can make your trip more fun.

Thanks for the post. Your sensibilities sound pretty similar to ours. // We're doing Orlando at a light crowd calendar too (just a short, budget, mini trip) and sort of like you implied Universal and IOA don't take all that much time for us. We typically don't repeat rides / attractions. Lots of things that we've done before at the parks just aren't real standouts for us (no interest on our part to do them again), so we'll give them a skip, meaning a one day park to park ticket (although certainly an expensive per day cost) will be perfect for us with our interests mostly to see the new HP stuff, hit a few other newer things we haven't done before, and hit a handful of things from other trips that we'd like to repeat. // I plugged all this into a touring plan, have 45 minutes for lunch and a good 60 minutes for exploring Diagon Alley, and even hitting both parks it looks like we'll finish everything we want to do 2 hours before park closing. That's actually a positive, meaning there is plenty of time to take our time and add something if we're in the mood. In reality we have quite a few things on the list we could easily drop too that are in no way for us must dos. We added them simply because there was extra time. // Can't wait to see the HP theming, and Universal gets a day of our time due to the cool looking new stuff they've put together (They get high parks for development of new attractions). In general, though, we are bigger fans of SeaWorld and Disney. And for us the Universal parks are more of a day trip than a destination (not knocking anyone else making a vacation out of it -- just saying with our interests in Orlando one day here makes the most sense).
