Quick thoughts on Coral Reef?

Making reservations at last minute and wondering what your thoughts are on this restaurant? Thanks!

It was okay. I found a bone in my fish and my DH got the lobster salad/bisque combo and was starving afterward. Our wait was about 45 minutes past our ADR time for lunch. The view was pretty, the food was tasty (although the portions were small and I nearly got a bone shard in the roof of my mouth), the service wasn't great, all in all - I guess I'd give it another chance, but it's not a "must-do."

Wonderful atmosphere, good variety of food, best dessert on disney property can be found at the Coral Reef.

The atmosphere is wonderful. Our service has tended to be slightly slow. The steak and desserts are wonderful.

If you are on the dining plan, then this is a good choice. Otherwise, there are plenty of other restaurants that are probably a better value if paying OOP.

i liked the desserts too.

i didn't really like the entrees because i don't really like fish so i ordered something off the kids menu (forgot what) but that was about 6 years ago so i dont even know if they would let adults orfer from the kids menu these days.

We have eaten their on the dining plan the last 3 years and have an upcoming reservation next week. We have always been on the free dining plan so cost was not an issue - if you are paying for it it is $$$. The atmosphere is great and our food has always been good. Couple of years ago we even ate there twice during our stay.

You might want to go to trip advisor dot com and enter Coral Reef Epcot...

That should give you a good idea, based on the reviews there...

We can't recommend the place, but everyone is different.

Only thing good was soup, bread, and the view. Service was slow and our fish was blech!!

Same as kehlyrsmom, we have eaten there the last 3 trips on the DDP and have a reservation coming up in about 8 weeks last week in Oct. We love the NY strip.
Bailey's and Jack Daniel Mousse - topped with a ganache and chocolate cigar is our favorite dessert at Disney world.
Never had a bad service but I guess a few have, so you got to judge for yourself and try at least once.

We loved it. Atmosphere was awesome and everyone enjoyed their food. Personally, I had the NY strip and it was delicious. I vote you try it :thumbsup2 . Not one of us walked away hungry.

food - ok to good
service - good
ambience - great.

As far as the food I think it depends what your order. If you are a big eater you may not leave full.
Loved the chocolate lava cake!

I made a reservation at Reef just so I could have The Wave-well my 6 year old had had a long day and her food didn't sit well with her. We made it to the podium in the lobby when she let loose-it was not pretty.
I had to clean it up-I went in the bathroom to clean my DD up and when we came back out-it was still there.
I couldn't believe it-right in front of the hostess stand with everyone standing around waiting for their table. I went back in the bathroom to get paper towels-so not Disney.
So my DH is kind enough to get my Wave to go-(I'm sitting outside at this point) but the restaurant DOES NOT have plastic forks/spoons-nothing!
Finally, after much waiting for something-a rep comes out and gives me a real fork, apologizes and tells me I can just keep it.
Not Disney's finest moment.
The experience kind of taints any future visits.

This was the worst restaurant of our trip. The food was awful. The service was SLOW...the tank was gorgeous...but other than that...was a huge disappointment. We were so looking forward to it...and completely let down. Will not be attending that restaurant again.

Ate here in July - and some may think this would be an odd place to go for such a special night but . . . it was our 25th wedding anniversary! We had the best dinner of our entire trip! The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful! All of the people working that night were so kind to us - especially the people at the check-in desk! They made sure to seat us right away and I feel like we got one of the best tables in the restaurant - one of the booths on the bottom level right in the middle! It was perfect and we so enjoyed watching the divers swimming by all night. Our server was great! The food almost came too fast! We thought it was delicious! As stated earlier the desserts were fantastic! It was our first time eating here and I was very nervous about choosing it for such a special occasion but we were so happy with our experience! We will definitely go back!

We are going in a couple of weeks. We've never been, but it you look over on allears.net the recent reviews are largely positive. I'm looking forward to it, and I hope it turns out to be great!

Ok I know this is coral reef w seafood and all but i had the steak and it was awesome! We loved the inside it was really cool too. We were on DDP so cost didnt matter if i was paying OOP well might not do this one, but DDP try it it's fun
