Quick T shirt question

As I was folding laundry today I was looking at the tags of some of the boys shirts and they say do not iron on design. Is that because it 100% cotton or something. I was planning on using a few because they are solid colors with nothing on them. Is it better to use 50/50 shirts?

I haven't seen shirts that say that, but I personally think that my 100% cotton shirts took iron-ons better than the 50/50 that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. That is just a personal preference...I have seen others that think they both iron-on equally well.

I haven't seen this either..in fact, when I was figuring out the shirts I needed, my transfers said, 100% cotton...
