I've been running in Newton Gravity for 2 years now and I just got my 3rd pair in this afternoon. One pair is being retired immediately as they've gotten their fair share of mileage (about 700-800 miles) and have been great shoes! The 2nd pair currently has about 500 miles on them and is holding up really well still, but I like keeping a 2nd pair to rotate between to keep the mileage on each pair down and keep me from wearing one out before a new pair is broken in.
My question is really people's opinion. I'm going to take my new pair out tomorrow for my first run. I'm currently tapering (12 miles tomorrow) for the WDW Full Marathon. This will be my 1st full marathon. Is there any reason to fear the new ones won't be broken in before the full marathon if I get a few good runs (maybe 20-30 miles before the full)?
Obviously if I develop a blister tomorrow on my run, I've answered my own question. Should I not chance fate and just stick with the current pairs I have until after the marathon or would I be ok trying to work the new ones in between now and then and possibly using them for the full if they feel good?
Technically, they're the exact same shoe, same size, width, etc.....The only thing different is teh color. With Newtons, the only other difference would be the wear on the lugs. I always seem to have a great first 100 miles or so in new Newtons. I don't know if it's because of the new lugs or just mental. Either way. Thanks for playing.
