Hello!! I have a question about the dining plans. We are staying at the Pop Century in September and got the free quick service dining plan. we are thinking of changing to the Carribbean Beach resort, but the quick service will be upgraded to the disney dining plan. Is it possible to keep the quick service dining plan instead? That plan seems to work better for my family. we don't want to have to make reservations at table service restaurants (with the exception of the character dining that I have already booked). I know the quick service doesn't include any character dining, but we like the flexibility that the quick service plan provides better than dining at a table service restaurants. Can the table service options be used at quick service restaurants as well, or do they HAVE to be used at table service restaurants?
Thank you in advance!!!:)

This question has been asked before and I believe the answer is no, you can't keep the QS plan even if it's free when you stay at a non-value resort.

Many years ago Disney offered to trade your TS credits for one CS and one/two snacks. They stopped doing this long ago and I think you can't trade TS for CS meals even if it's just 1/1. Some resorts may offer a bit of flexibility on this though.

Since you are essentially paying for the "free" dining plan by paying rack rate for the room and getting the memory book package, why not look for some room discounts during that same time? Try Mousesavers.com or your local AAA office. You may end up ahead by getting a discount on your room and eating CS out of pocket.

No and that is why we are staying at pop again. We did actually upgrade to CBR. But the plan just don't work for us well. We seem to get more done when we do the QSDP. So we went back with pop. We like it there so it is fine was us. But you would think they would give you a option.

Disney does still offer this from time to time, espically during free dining times. We have seen it advertised on the resort tv's for use in the food court, but we have also had it honored at guest services in the park. It is just not advertised as it is not *always* offered.
