Quick Service Menu - Single Items Question

My husband and I will not be getting a dining plan. I wanted to know if it was possible to get single food items off of combo menus at Quick Service restaurants? If my husband only wanted a sandwich and not the fries or drink, is it okay to do that? What if he only wanted a side item like fries? I can't remember if the items are available alone or if you have to get a combo meal.

I did a couple searches and couldn't find the answer I was looking for because most of them pertained to people who had the Quick Service dining plan looking for substitutions.

I've read many times where the experts say you can ask for just the sandwich and it'll usually save you at least a couple bucks.

This is correct. If you wanted the pizza from a pizza combo meal (pizza and salad), for example, you can just get the pizza. I did this in March and I think they charged me $2 less than the listed price. :goodvibes

As long as it's listed on the menu above your head, you can get it by itself. You can even go to a place that has, say, a chili dog, and ask for just the hot dog and not the chili. Very easy to do. And don't forget there's no rule that says an adult can't order a child's meal at a quick service place. Or any one item from a child's meal.

Good point. I still remember a delicious chicken leg/mashed potatoes child's meal I got at Sunshine Seasons (uh...is that the right name? In the Land?) a few years ago? Just the right amount of food and yummy!

Thanks, disnut8! I did not know about being able to order off of the children's menu.
