Our last trip to Disney we stayed off property, so we ate most of our meals outside of the park. This time we will be staying on property with a dining plan:banana:. I was hoping I could get some suggestions on favorite Counter service meals in each of the parks. We will be at Disney for 9 days, so I want to make sure we have pleny of choices. :)

Thanks!!:thumbsup2

In MK, my favorites are Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill's, I used to love Caseys but they don't have all beef hot dogs anymore (think it is a chicken mix).

At EPCOT, I like Yorshire Fish.

At AK, Flametree or Yak and Yeti.

Epcot-I like Sunshine Seasons it has a wide variety and food quality is good

Animal Kingdom-Flame Tree BBQ (I like Yak and Yeti, but never had the cs just the table service)

Hollywood Studios-My kids enjoy Pizza Planet

Magic Kingdom-Pecos Bills or Caseys

Downtown Disney-Earl of Sandwich

Don't forget Downtown Disney. Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express both of which take the dining plans.

Magic Kingdom: Colonial Harbor House

Epcot: Sunshine Grill (?) in The Land opposite Soarin'

Hollywood Studios: there are several counter service places on the way to Tower of Terror. They are on the left and have a common picnic area.

Animal Kingdom: I've only eaten at Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ. Both are OK.

At EPCOT we love the Sunshine seasons.. It has such a great selection to choose from!!:thumbsup2

Definitely the Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom - table and counter service is great. We also like Cantina de San Angel in Mexico at Epcot.

This isn't quite quick service...it's a snack (on the DDP), but you might enjoy a Dole Whip at a little place called Aloha Isle in Adventureland. It's a pineapple soft serve ice cream that's made in hawaii. not everyone love it, but if you're one of the ones who does, you'll return home thinking about it.

We enjoy several of the ones mentioned above:

AK: Pizzafari
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons, Yorkshire Fish & Chips

Also, like the bakery at DHS...Starring Roles - you can get premade sandwiches there too, but it closes early. Also, the bakery at MK has some fab snacks and sandwiches too.

Occasionally, we may consider a pretzel from Germany in Epcot a mini meal!

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.

Epcot: Electric Umbrella.

Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue & Pizzafari.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: Earl of Sandwich.

Contemporary: Contempo Cafe.

Grand Floridian: Gasparilla's Grill & Games.

I am wondering where Fairfax Fare is. In all my visits I can't recall it; it wasn't on the WDW map either. Can you tell where it is? Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing. I never noticed this place before. Where do you find it?

Here are our favorite CS spots:

MK--Pecos Bills is our all time favorite CS restaurant in all of Disney. However I have heard many great things about Columbia Harbor House and plan on stopping there during our upcoming March trip.

Epcot--Sunshine Seasons. But the one good thing about Epcot is that they have many options for CS there. Just walk around each of the countries and you will find so many different options.

DHS--My kids enjoy TS Pizza Planet, just for the atmosphere they could care less about the food. My DH and I really enjoy The Backlot Express. We all do enjoy the Writer's Stop for breakfast (very good pastries)

AK--Don't really have a favorite but we did enjoy Flame Tree BBQ

Fairfax Fare is on the left side of Sunset Blvd., if you were walking down the street toward the Tower of Terror. (It shares the same seating area as Rosie's All American Cafe.) I discovered their awesome salad a few trips ago & it's been a 'must have' ever since. I found it on this map http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/MGM.htm , but it looks like an older description b/c they offer more items now.

I know you asked for park favorites but I just have to say that the best counter service meal I had on my last vacation was at The Contemporary at The Contempo Cafe. The sandwich was amazing (I had the turkey with apples) and the dessert (yummy cupcakes) were fabulous. If you can get over to The Contemporary, I highly recommend it!

If you look on allearsnet.com - and I think also on the DIS parent site- you'll find listings for allthe places that serve food with menus.

Soem of the places mentioned - like Yorkshire Fish and chips - really only serve fried fish with french fries (chips). If you love heavy fried food, go for it, but if you like something a little healthier- then it won't be for you. Incidentally, I have the smae problem with Yorshire fish in MK. The air is limited and ahd heavy with the smell of fried fish grease. To top it off - the restroom inside the place has only like one stall. If you go - use the restroom that's over by Peter Pan.

Second, menus change fairly frequently at WDW. There's one place in HS that changes it's menu about every year. I have to say though - since it's at teh back it's relatively quiet and most menus I've liked. I can never remember the name, but it's next to the 'Honey I Shrunk...Playground' and Backlot tour.

I also kind of like Pizza Planet in HS. The pizza is nothing so great, though it has improved recently - but the atmosphere is cute. It's supposed to be the Toy Story movie pizza place. If you sit outside you can see see the Muppet fountain courtyard.

For Epcot, I do like Sunshine season's variety and healthy options. Soups, salad, sandwiches, stir fry veggies. Plus rice crispie treats! Epcot also has some great choices in the WS. Among them, Yorkshire is our least favorite. Morocco is a bit exotic; you can get hummous, and taboule. If you are craving somethig green try taboule! = parsley, lemon juice, tomato, wheat, onion, mint. So good.

I also like Japan. The menu is very limited these days, and the dessert options are very limited if you are on DDP, (I think a so-so ginger cake) but the yakitori chicken remains good (terriyaki chicken skewers served with rice). We also like the noodle soup (called Udon) For dessert you can get asnow cone at the snow cone stand.

France has crepes. I mean they are just crepes, but they are good. The bakery has some fun items for dessert.

The best bakery is Kringa La in Norway. They do serve minimal sandwiches, but I've never had them. Teh goodies are excellent. One of my faves is the berry tart. The fruit is fresh blue and raspberries, the tart shell is dipped in dark chocolate, and there's just a touch of vanilla creme in the middle. MMMMM! :lovestruc

Mexico's food is okay. It tastes okay, but the place has less variety than your local Taco Bell by far. And I don't even eat at Taco Bell. It does serve margaritas.

For AK, the choices are limited. The best two are gone.(chicken dumpling cart and Tusker House - it's now a very mediocre TS) I don't really like the BBQ. The new YAk and Yeti is okay. Pizzafari is okay. Between them I think I prefer Yak and Yeti. PIzzafari is colorful inside though so it has that going for it. You can get limited sandwiches there. The pizza is just okay.

In MK, I'llalways have a soft spot ofr Cosmic Rays. The singing RAy is cute. The food is basic AMerican fare: burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, chicken- but the service is alwasy fast, youc a sit outside or in fairly open areas if you choose. And they have a fixings bar with sauteed mushrooms and sauteed onions. PEcos Bills is similat, but Pecos has the same ventilation problems as the fishouse. it always smells funky in there.

Behind PEcos Bills is a tiny taco place - across from PotC. It is only open seasonally and bascially ONLY has beef tacos and taco salads - but it's fixin's bar has tomato, salsa, cheese, lettuce. If you like that one choice, and it's open - it's pretty tasty. You can pretty easily have one person grab food ther and send aonther to PEcos Bills - at least you could before. I'm not sure under the new seating policy if you can do that. PB is subject to the new seating policy - unless they stopped the experiment. I don'tt hink it was very popular.

My new favorite though in MK is the chicken parm from the Friar's Nook. There are no tables there, so you have to alk across the way to sit.Youcan also combine with options from Pinnochio Haus (pizza/salad in it's more recent incarnation, limited other options- but this one also changes menus frequently).

Another good option for MK is to hop the monorial to one of the three resorts. It takes some time, but they are pretty quiet and if you take the boat, it's relaxing and the ride is quiet. If you've got young kids - it's a nice break for them. I think Poly's is just so-so, but the new one at CR has good food. A confusing system, but good food. Gf's also has some good food choices. At GF, take the food outside. Mind the gulls, but enjoy the castle view and quiet.

Also, don't rule out the other resort food courts. It's may not be worht the itme to go to mod other thanyour own, but many of the moderate and value resort food courts have some good options. Some are pretty homogenous - like chicken Ceaser salad and burgers and pizza - but eachone also has afew unique options: Pop has a different 'homestyle' meal each night - like fried chicken or meat loaf. CSR is a bit slow but has some great Mexican-American options like fajitas. Their pizza is good too.
