We are going in less than 2 months with our Baseball team. All families except three are doing the regular dining plan. One has already booked the quick service dining place. The other two are now asking should they add the quick service plan. Both didn't want the regular one but now think that the quick service may work for them I have gave them the prices but they want to know if It is worth it. Our balances are due in about 2 weeks so I think it would be best to make the changes before then. I have to make all changes for everyone through the Disney sports travel. I swear by the regular Dining plan just for having meals pre paid for and not having to worry about the price. Not necessarily for the value though. Anyone have any sucess or failures with the quick service plan? One is family of 3 and one a family of 4 one of those being a toddler who is too young for the plan so techinally two families of 3. Both have an 8 year old boy as the child.

Monetarily the QS plan either costs more or is a break even.

I don't usually recommend it, honestly. If they want the prepay convenience it'd be nice. A lot of people recommend getting a gift card for the same DDP price. You typically have a bit extra for souvenirs.

It doesn't work for me personally. It still feels like paying OOP for me, but it works for others.

Will the two families currently not on the plan be with some of the others who are on the plan? That in itself might be the reason to go ahead and get the plan. The other kids will be getting desserts and drinks with all their meals, and when the "not plan" parents see the prices, they may be saying "no" to their kids.

They aren't going to save money and I'm not a believer in the prepay for convenience argument but they probably won't LOSE a ton of money. Seems to me that something to consider is whether you are going to have team meals at table service restaurants - if so then they'll be paying out of pocket for those meals and the quick service plan becomes a real money loser

You can work out if it's worth it or not with the calculator here -

They will be eating often at quick service places with all the other familes who are on the plan with kids getting desserts that was kind of why I thought they might as well get it because they are going to get sucked into alot of extras otherwise.

All of of the kid meal QS meals come with drink and dessert whether or not you are on the plan.

Kid meals all come with drink and dessert. It might actually work out for them money wise if the 8 year olds are big eaters as they don't discriminate between kid and adult QS credits... they would pay kid prices but could order off the adult menu at QS places. if they are going to order kid meals it won't matter one bit.
