Quick service dining plan not going well for us.

First we went straight to Disney Springs but asked reservations online help if we could get sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich if we checked in online Monday. They said we could. But at the restaurant they took our order told us we needed to get drinks for the credit.
Cashier said we couldn’t use the credit so we paid cash. But we declined 2 of the 3 drinks and paid cash.

So now we have used all our 21 snack credits and 1 quick service meal and it’s Wednesday night. One of the 3 of us leaves 2 days early. I think we made a huge mistake. What can we do? I was reading that 2 quick service made a sit down meal in exchange. Well I read wrong. I read wrong several times. Today we are at Be Our Guest, figuring we could use some of those credits finally. Nope.

I’m not sure what happened at lunch today, but we ordered two salmon meals and a mushroom sandwich and we’re only able to use one credit.

I’m looking for suggestions we’re not the kind of family that eats burgers, but I didn’t know that. That’s the only thing besides spaghetti that we were left to be able to eat. I have four more days here and this plan is gonna work. Is anyone got any suggestions? Really I’m listening.

I'm sorry but your post is confusing.

In order to use a QS meal credit at Earl you'd need to order a sandwich, get an eligible side, and an eligible drink.

Not sure how you've used so many snacks and only one meal credit???

Be Our Guest is a signature TS restaurant so no you would not be able to use a QS credit.

Sounds to me like you did not do your due diligence as to what restaurants accept your QUICK SERVICE DINING PLAN or what is included.

My suggestion is to look on the Disney website to figure out where you can use the plan you have and go from there.

Remember you are on the QUICK SERVICE DINING PLAN so you need to go to QUICK SERVICE locations.
An example would be Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in MK, Backlot Express in HS etc.

If you look at menus on Disney’s website, the home page for each restaurant indicates whether the plan is accepted. That is a good place to start.

I have found it to be easier to ask before ordering anything if the items I want are included in the plan or not. Sometimes premium items or separate sides are not included, so it is better to know in advance. The cashiers are accustomed to people asking questions so do so.

It is also easier to use the QS plan at Disney owned restaurants rather than third party restaurants like EoS. Definitely ask in advance at any third party establishment before placing your order. If they aren’t able to explain it, go elsewhere. At this point, it would be better to leave a restaurant that won’t let you use the credits and go to one that will. Otherwise you will continue to pay OOP and not use the credits.

Don’t rely on anything you have read online at this point unless it’s on Disney’s website. There were things like exchanging credits and combining credits that happened in the past that did not necessarily come back when the dining plan came back after the pandemic. These people are giving honest information, it’s just out of date sometimes. You don’t have the luxury of time to figure out whether something still applies.

Right now, you are in crisis mode and trying to get the most out of your remaining credits that you can. Look at the menus on Disney’s website the evening before and make a plan of which restaurants you want to go to. Make sure the restaurants you pick say that they take the dining plan. Confirm again before you order that they take the dining plan and what is included. Be prepared to go to a different restaurant if you end up somewhere that does not take the dining plan.

Good luck and I hope you are able to use up your remaining credits.

Use your MDE app to look for QS dining locations. Tap on the filter and choose 2024 Quick Service Plan (It's near the bottom, so scroll down). From there, you should see locations on the map where the QSDP is accepted. Tap on them to view their menus and choose from there. Don't forget that your credits can be used at places that serve breakfast.

You could have used the credits but decided not to because you didn’t want a drink?? You can get a bottle of water as your drink, save it if you don’t want it right then. Or just use the credit & toss the drink. If you don’t use the credit, you’re just throwing your money away. Better to use the credit & toss the drink.

I am only seeing a 2025 quick service dining plan option. When I select that I only see Sanaa for lunch and dinner. Sanaa is TS so I’m assuming the app is messed up. Tried SO account and same results.

Table service locations don’t take snack credits for anything. Nor do they take QS dining credits.

If you are at a QS location, some items are “snacks.” If you choose, you can use snack credits for these items on a 1:1 basis. Starbucks drinks are an example of an item that can be bought with a snack credit. If you get a bakery item at the same time, that is a second credit.

It is possible, and pretty easy, to use a snack credit and meal credit at the same time if you order an item that isn’t considered a “side” for a QS meal but is indeed a snack. Or if you get a second side item that is also a QS snack item.

QS does not constrain you to only hamburgers. It does constrain you from dining in TS locations and using QS credits.

Was this at Columbia Harbour House? Did you just order one drink instead of three drinks?

There are so many varied quick service restaurants throughout DW that serve way more than spaghetti or burgers. Take a look at the counter service menus at the park you’re going to tomorrow and decide on something that appeals to you. If you are confused, tell a CM how many meals you want to redeem and check to see what’s included.

I'm not sure what happened here or if I understand if it had to do with being checked in?? I've used the QS plan there and it appears as if it works on the Disney site. So why did she say you couldn't use it? Was it a conflict with it not being activated or something?

So now we have used all our 21 snack credits and 1 quick service meal and it’s Wednesday night.
So you have used 21 snack credits in 2-3 days? Were you eating at Food & Wine and using them? How did your group only use 1 quick service meal or are you saying each person has used 1?

One of the 3 of us leaves 2 days early. I think we made a huge mistake. What can we do?
Have a breakfast, lunch AND dinner and you'll use more credits than you have each day. That will help you use them up. Some places offer an item that is more dessert like, so you could get a crepe at Epcot and treat it as a treat between meals.

I was reading that 2 quick service made a sit down meal in exchange. Well I read wrong. I read wrong several times. Today we are at Be Our Guest, figuring we could use some of those credits finally. Nope.
You bought the Quick Service Plan so you can only use it for Quick Service meals at QS restaurants.

You can not use them at Table Service, you would need the upgraded plan.

Where was this? Was it Columbia Harbor House? If you ordered 3 QS meals then they should have used 3 QS credits. Why did they say you could only use one? If they were only letting you use one credit you should have asked for a manager, I am assuming every person in your party paid for the dining plan.

If this has happened more than once, is there maybe a problem with your account?

I don't know why you think there are only burgers and spaghetti. Honestly those are two rare items anymore at Disney. There are some great QS options, for the last few trips we have eaten only QS and been very pleased with options. One of the best values is AK Satuli' Canteen. Amazing food. Lots of great food at AK. MK's Columbia Harbor House has Lobster Roll, Shrimp Salad, Salmon ... Epcot has so many options in World Showcase. DHS you'll find Tacos, Chicken Club and more.

You bought the Quick Service so just look at the APP and scroll those 122 places and read their menus. We always plan about where we want to eat each trip, especially when on the dining plan since cost doesn't matter.

I just opened mine. I see the 2024 and it lists 122 dining options. Maybe reboot your APP.

Dining options for the QS Dining Plan: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/#/quick-service-dining-plan/

When you go to order, explain that you would like to use the QS dining credit. As others here have said, it will include a side and a drink. Even if you aren't going to eat them, they need to be included to complete the order. If you are confused about how to use the credit properly, you may need to find a Guest Experience Cast Member (blue umbrella) to help you.

Don't panic--you've got this!

I'm on an android phone and if I'm on the map (second from left at bottom of the app) on the MDE app, and then switch to dining instead of wait times, I can go to filters and scroll down to the subcategory titled Dining Plan, I see this:

Thanks found it that way.

I had clicked the plus and then check dining availability. I then put in people and a date but wasn’t able to see 2024 under filters. To be honest not sure why any QS would show as I thought that was for TS restaurants.

Sorry to hear this. We’ve used DDP plenty of times and had our share of frustrations.

Sounds like you have 20 QS credits left. Two of you have 4 more days but the other person only 2 days. Correct?

If the 3 of you use 2 QS credits each for the next 2 days, you’ll have 8 credits left so the 2 remaining people can also have 2 credits each on the 2 last days.

A good site that has a list of QS uses that is sortable:

Can you explain how many credits you had and where you went? Most qs places take the dining plan.
We had 21 snack credits and 42 QS meals originally and now after 3 days we have 38 QS meals left over. We have 5 days left to use our credits except one person leaves in 3 days.

I had an accident when I was in my 20’s so I probably am very difficult to understand plus I had a concussion in July which isn’t helping me right now. Made reading and research for this trip very hard for me.

We tried to order whatever they required (3 sandwich's and water/water/milk we were told) at Earl of sandwich but the cashier said we couldn’t purchase with credits

Ouch I did and research said I could combine 2 qs for sit down meal in 2024 books and on line.

Well the person who sold me the deal made it sound care free. And that’s not at all how it’s worked out!. I told them we are not burgers kind of people but they said it’s not just burgers. So I believed them.

We wanted the drinks but we couldn’t afford them because we didn’t plan to pay for dinner but use our credits. The sandwiches were expensive and cut into our cash for the trip. We brought 2 bottles of water and a milk to the cashiers.

You must have misread. You went to BOG which is actually 2 table service credits on the dining plan. Maybe when you saw that some restaurants were 2 table service credits, you understood it as, you could use 2 quick service credits at these restaurants. Maybe that’s what tripped you up.

Well the person who sold me the deal made it sound care free. And that’s not at all how it’s worked out!. I told them we are not burgers kind of people but they said it’s not just burgers. So I believed them.
The quick service plan is actually pretty carefree and easy to use. Plus there is lots of variety. They weren’t wrong.

Do you still have the receipt for your Earl of Sandwich meal?

If you do, take it to the front desk at your resort and explain the situation. They can most likely reimburse you for any meal and drink you bought there and take it from your quick service allotments.

Ignore what's gone before...

You have 38 meal credits left and 5 days to use them...

Day 1 - 3 credits breakfast, lunch, dinner = 9 credits
Day 2 - 3 credits breakfast, lunch, dinner = 9 credits
Day 3 - 3 credits breakfast, lunch, dinner = 9 credits
Day 4 - 2 credits breakfast, lunch, dinner = 6 credits
Day 5 - 1 credit breakfast (split), 2 credits lunch and dinner = 5 credits

Total credits used 38.

So, however you were eating before, you now need to go to resort and park counter service places and eat the way the dining plan intends - 1 entree/1 beverage (alcohol or not) each time at a quick service (aka, not table service) location. You cannot do anything but use them as intended, so plan accordingly.

Use your MDE app to look for QS dining locations. Tap on the filter and choose 2024 Quick Service Plan (It's near the bottom, so scroll down). I’m trying to find your recommendation on the phone. It sounds helpful. I was able to find how to order food but not a page to choose quick service food. Can you guide me?

We wanted sandwiches sides and beverages but had to put them back because we couldn’t afford them. Once he said we couldn’t use the plan we we had to cut back on the foods to just the sandwiches they already made for us. Otherwise we would have shared a sandwich with water to not spend more money.
