We just got back from 3 nights in San Diego on the way to DL. We stayed at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa which we really liked. We were put in an upgraded room, so thankful because the location was better than the standard room we'd booked. Doing it again, I'd book an upgraded room off the bat.
We booked breakfast with our room and it was lovely in the restaurant overlooking Mission Bay. The kids loved the pool. It was also a great driving location from all the sight seeing we did.
We went to La Jolla cove to see the seals and to walk around there, it was beautiful. We went to Coronado Island to see the Hotel Del Coronado and ate at the Bluewater Boathouse Grill (yummy). We then walked over to the Hotel Del to check that out and see the beach, we loved it there!
We did San Diego Zoo, which we spent about 6-7 hours at and all loved! We did the USS Midway Museum, great! We purchased the 2 day San Diego Go Card, so we also did the San Diego Natural History Museum -fun and right near the zoo and a couple of hours at Legoland (liked it but didn't love) on the way to DL. We also at a place called the Lazy Dog, which we all loved. It's a chain, but not in the NE where we are, so we'd never been and the food was really good.
Kids (both 11) loved the whole trip!! We all did!
