Quick Review 12-18 through 12-25

Friday morning we had a CP breakfast reservation. This was the actual day I turned 21.;) Our ADR was at 8:10. We meet up with our friends again. I must say this really added to the festivities! They boys loved having another pal around and the adults enjoyed some lively converstion!

The CP is a bright and fun spot to start you day off. Not to mention...who wouldn't love a hug from Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger?

The food was great. It was a huge buffet of fruits, pastries, eggs, omelets, pooh waffles, breakfast lasagne, puffed french toast. The decorated the table with confetti and brought out a cupcake with a candle. Our server was very friendly and she even had the nearby tables sing Happy Birthday. I felt like a kid again.:cool1:

YM - I'm enjoying the dining reviews - I have to agree w/ you about WCC - we haven't eaten anything but breakfast there in a few years, and that's because we've always found it "eh..." . We LOVE their breakfasts, though. Their 'all you can eat' skillet in the morning is awesome.

Great. Now I'm hungry.

Hey there DznFan...I'm feeling so hungry right now I'm heading to the kitchen. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a skillet full of breakfast foods. :thumbsup2 pixiedust:

Your O'Hana's sounds wonderful! It sounds like you weren't rushed, which is a change from most posters. Now, I'm going to get an ADR for there for Thanksgiving.

Great picture of you with Pooh and the boys!

Can't wait for more! :)

Thanks IckyMickey (love that user name)! I think we were one of the lucky ones for not being rushed. Maybe they had to hold things up a little so I (and my friend) could lead the limbo parade? Hey, I think I read somewhere that they are serving the Jumbo shrimp instead of the turkey. I've eaten the turkey twice and it was tastless both times.:scared:

sounds like a plan to me!!! :woohoo: I'll start checking codes now:rotfl2:

Gril...don't worry about the codes...it's adjoining rooms at SOG...was it 10 or 12 nights?:woohoo:

After our good breakfast at CP we ended up at Cosmic Rays for some lunch. I ordered three chicken/rib combo meals and we let the boys split one. They both love ribs. They came with the mashed potatoes and green beans. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. I let the kids and DH eat the desserts. I think we had two chocolate cakes and one carrot cake. I didn't hear any compliants! Oh, the ribs were not over cooked. I think I had read that several times but luckily they were fine.

I had padded our ADR's with a couple of extra just in case we had to cancel one. After an early start at MK for our CP breakfast, plus a full day at MK, we decided not to keep our Narcoosees reservation. I really wanted to go back to WL to freshen up and the night before it had taken us 1 hour to go from WL to 'Ohana. The problem was the timing(both ADR'S were at 7:30):goodvibes . All the MVMCP parties were sold out that week. It was a nightmare of guest leaving and coming to the MK. We ended up catching the boat back to WL and usuing some counter service credits at roaring forks! I think we had flatbread pizza (pepperoni), chicken tenders, carrot/celery and ranch dip, magic bar (yum) and a giant cookie of some kind? The food here was good. We ended up taking a night swim (the boys swam) and DH and I sat in the hot tubs. It was the perfect ending to a lovely birthday!

Happy belated 21st Birthday ;) That's what I love about Disney - it makes you feel like a kid again :thumbsup2 We are going to CP for my DD's Birthday in April - I hope they make a fuss of her too, she'll be stoked :)

I'm still captivated by your dining reviews!!

So glad to hear you had such a wonderful "21st" birthday. I thought you looked much too young to have children so old.:goodvibes ;)

Can't wait to hear more!!! What's next??

Let's see...I already did Coral Reef so we will skip to Sunday 12-23. This was our only MGM day so we got there right at park opening or maybe just a few minutes after. We went to the 'fun' restaurants. My oldest DS wanted to do Prime Time and my 7 year old wantd to eat at Sci Fi! We had fun at both places and the food was tasty.

Sci Fi Dine-In Theatre

DH: chocloate shake, 7 Bean Beef Chili - Finished with shredded cheddar, pico de gallo, and tortilla chips, Smoked Turkey Sandwich - Smoked turkey, Swiss cheese, arugula, and plum tomatoes with mustard-mayo on multigrain bread served with cucumber-melon salad (except he had fires instead of the salad)...and Chocolate Tart - Made with a mix of chocolate mousse, fudge, and ganache. This was a huge meal but he shared it with me! I had a cherry coke and helped DS with his giant meal too. Let me say that next to the bread pudding at 'Ohana the chocolate tart was right up there in the Yum-ness factor!

DS (10) Oreo cookie shake, onion rings (appetizer) cheeseburger with fries, and Cheesecake - With caramel sauce and treats! He treid very hard to eat his very large meal but I helped with the onion rings and cheesecake! I must say that the cheesecake was very tasty! If anyone just wanted desserts or shakes I would highly recommend Sci Fi for a nice afternoon break...that is if you can't fit it in for lunch or dinner!

DS (7) chocolate shake, hamburger, fries, sundae! This little guy was full!

The other good part about this lunch was that our friends were with us. The boys had a great time!

50's Prime Time Cafe!

Ok, one problem, we were still a little full from lunch. We ended up splitting a couple of adult meals. The waitress seemed ok with this? We needed to eat something but the dining plan was a lot of food.

DH: coke, Fried Herb Cheese - Lightly-breaded and served with toasted French bread and fresh fruit. Traditional Meatloaf - A blend of beef and pork topped with tomato glaze served with mashed potatoes, and green beans, S'mores - A graham cracker square, topped with chocolate and yummy toasted marshmallows

Me; chocolate shake, Shrimp cocktail - Jumbo Shrimp served with cocktail sauce and lemon, Golden Fried Chicken - Served with Mashed Potatoes, Chicken gravy, and Southern greens and S'mores

DS (10) chocolate shake and some of dad's meatlaof
DS (7) coke, and some of mom's chicken

We enjoyed all of our food. Our waitress was fun but the boys weren't too sure about here getting onto them...they kept putting their elbows on the table. :rotfl2:

We actually took our s'mores to go because our friends had some great seats saved for Fantasmic! The show was great.

Yes MOM....I cleaned my plate. By the way...the soap is green...or was it blue. I kept my elbows off the table. Funny that you noticed the women on the screen...I hadn't caught that. Is it Jane Wyatt or Donna Reed...I can't remember?:headache:

I'm glad you are enjoying my reviews...I'm not too much of a foodie as long as my dairy products...ie butter, cheese, milk, cream, etc are real I'm happy. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Monday we had dedicated to parades and Christmas Wishes at the MK. We arrived about 10:30 and took the train back to Toontown! After goofing around there a while we went to pick out a parade spot on Main Street for the 12:30 Mickey's Very Mery Christmas parade! We had almost a hour wait so we decided to have some hot dogs from Casey's.

The meals are pretty much the same: we had a coke, hot dog, fries and cracker jacks for dessert.

After the parade we went back to WL to swim and rest a little. We had a 5:15 ADR for LTT. DS (10) was not feeling well (sick to his stomach) and it looked like DH was going to stay at WL while DS (7) and I headed over to the MK. We got their about 4:30 so we decided to walk through the Swiss Family Treehouse. By the time we made it over to LTT DH called to say they were on their way. They to LTT at exactly 5:15 so we checked in on got seated in about 10 mintues! This dinner was my DH's favorite! This was the best server we had for our trip although they were all very good. I've had trips were the servers were not very friendly so this greatly enhanced out dining experience!

Menu served family style: Declaration Salad: tossed mixed greens, served with strawberry vinaigrette dressing. Patriot's Platter: roasted turkey breast, carved beef, and smoked pork loin, with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb bread stuffing, and Stouffer's macaroni & cheese. Dessert was warm apple cobbler and ice cream. The entire meal was very good.
