Just got back, what a trip!
Anyways, mark me as one who thinks FW should stop the landscaping work. I stayed at 835, and found that there was NO shade whatsoever between about 8AM and 6PM. Loved the new added pad space, the picnic table was nice as well.
It was a pet loop, and all pet owners were 1st class!
Ate breakfast at TE, seemed pretty good to me. Pricey for sure, but what at WDW isnt? Donnell was a great waiter, took care of business.
The new pool was great! With only 9 inches difference between the deep and shallow, it is the perfect place to kick back after a hard day of hoofin' it around the parks. The jacuzzi is very nice as well, just be careful about the hot water jets at your feet. Playing footsy could get you a painful surprise...
The waterslide is quite a hit with the kids, and the self service timing system seems to work out well. Got a little more exciting for me...I was waiting near the bottom outflow of the slide, my daughter is just learning to swim. As I waited for her turn, a very small girl came down and hit the pool. I was watching, she didnt look like she was doing well. The lifeguard was watching too.
Not being one to handle another persons child without cause, I started moving towards the kid with the anticipation that the lifeguard would blow the whistle.
When she blew the whistle and jumped in, I was in position and lifted the kid up with a quick "everything's OK honey" and passed her off to the lifeguard. The waterslide must have an emergency switch, because it was turned off before you knew it. The child was fine, I think the parents got a talking to. Big thumbs up to the lifeguard staff, they all seemed on the ball!
