I am planning on doing a character breakfast at the Contemporary.
Can I leave my car there and go straight to Magic Kingdom.

No. You'll only be given a short time (3 hours) for your dining.. after you're fininshed with your dining, you'll need to go park at the MK, and pay for parking (unless you are staying at the resorts).

I believe the rule is if you are not a guest of the CR, then you have a 3 hour time limit for parking if you have reservations for a restaurant.
