We did the Luau last November.......it was just ok as far as we were concerned. We have had the opportunity to spend time in Hawaii, so we might expect more than someone who hasn't been there. The entertainment was fine......authentic and interesting. The food however was really blah, and not anywhere near the kind of food one would get at a Luau in Hawaii. The tables are set up in rows, so if you happen to besitting in the 4th or 5th row, its pretty tough to see(especially for little ones). We were assigned a back row spot, but asked if we could wait to see that everyone showed up and then be re-assigned a nearer spot. That part worked out great for us.....someone in the front row didn't show and so we got to move. All in all, i didn't think it was worth the $48 price tag. I have never done Hoop-do doo.....but i have only ever heard good things about it....Hope that helps.
