Quick question

For Magic mornings do you line up at security like the other days?

Not sure what you mean by security? Do you mean the regular security lines before getting in line at the DL gates? If so, yes, you still go through the security check. There's a different line at the maingate marked magic morning for entering the main gates of DL though.

And if by chance you're there BEFORE the bag check people get there, don't go on through. You'll just lose your place in line when everyone has to go back around to the bag check...so just be first in line at bag check. :)

^ Just to add to what Molly posted -- 'security' usually opens approximately 30 (or 35) minutes before the Magic Morning starts. :earsboy:

Ok-- lol, bear with me, the last time we were there there was still a parking lot where CA Adventures is...so is "bag check" and security the same thing? And this is all before you get to where they line up at the gates. Last I remember you lined up on mainstreet and there was a rope...

I didn't realize it had been so long since you were there!

If you can picture the esplanade (and I don't nkow if you can...before we went in '05 I hadn't been since I was a child and had absolutely no memory of what it looked like before.

Anyway, if you were a bird up in the sky, facing disneyland itself, you would be over the esplanade.

Behind you would be the entrance to DCA.

If I have my brain on straight, your RIGHT wing would point towards Harbor, though a person wouldn't see Harbor since they would be standing on the ground (being a bird has its sight-line advantages)...what the person would see is the ticket booths on that side. Beyond the ticket books are little "tents" or marquees, covering tables where you put your bags to be checked by "security" AKA "bag check". Beyond those tables is the tram pickup/dropoff area, then outside that the cab area, then there's Harbor.

Your birdy LEFT wing, however, would point towards DownTown Disney. But if there were a person walking on the ground (trying to get away from the pigeon strangely hovering above the esplanade, perhaps), that person would see the other side's bagcheck/security, between the esplanade and DTD.

So either way you come into the esplanade a person has to go through bag check. It's not a big deal, you just open your purse/bag/camera bag/whatever and they squeeze the bottom and look inside. When you are exiting, going out to Harbor or DTD, you just find the Exit line...you don't get checked leaving the area.

You might want to have some fun on googlemaps using the mixed street and satellite views, it's fun to really see what's going on. Get the main Disneyland address, center the view on what you want to see, hit the + button to zoom in...might help you with my bizarro birdy-view story. :)

OH, and yes, once you're through whichever bag check, and into the esplanade, then you go to the gates (they are obvious) and wait. And then for DL they let you in, you see the big floral thing in front of the Main Street station, and you can go into the left or right tunnel and onto Main Street! With DCA you enter and there's nothing much to 'greet' you right now, but it has fun music. :)

Also you can take park strollers, wheelchairs and ECVs from one park to another and even take the stroller to the tents and leave it there. They may stop you late at night from going out with strollers, not sure.

I now rent an ECV at DCA then drive over to DL then back again later. No more repeat bag checks. Listen carefully as sometimes they have a no bag line for people with no bags. They will confiscate guns, knives over a certain size, mace, pepper spray, and have dogs out there. Not sure if they are drug or bomb dogs. A lady in front of me had her pepper spray taken away from her and she just left it.

Thanks guys-- it is different and my perspective was all off from what I remembered. Yeah, last we were there I remember they were building the maliboomer (I believe) right across the street from the motel we were at--the Aladdin.(now Anabella).

(P.S. Bumber-- you have got to be a great mom lol.)
