Quick question- Vero Beach

I was just there in late Aug. They only have free wireless in limited locations (some hallways, lobby, Green Cabin Room). I asked at the front desk and they said they are working on getting internet for the rooms but not sure when that will be complete. I suggest calling the resort to see if the rooms are equipped with that yet. Not having internet in the rooms was one of the more inconvenient things at VB. We happened to be there when tropical storm Faye hit hard. We were trying to deal with flight cancellations....rebookings.....finding rooms........it was so inconvenient to have to go out into the hallways to get online. And it's only certain areas of the hallways. So here's hoping VB is putting a priority on getting internet in the rooms....have a great stay.

I've always accessed the internet from my room, going back to shortly after the resort first opened. It's called DIAL UP - through the phone modem. It's not fast, but it beats going down to the lobby!

We got internet in our room sometimes and sometimes not. Same thing with the Green Room. They said some pc's can get it, some cannot. It was really frustrating while we were there.

Sue....respectfully, fast isn't the only issue with dial up at a resort. I would think the cost ? I still think VB needs to get with the times as far as internet access goes ---some people, like ourselves, have had to use it for business as well as leisure. I just wonder what took them so long to just this year working on getting wireless or cable in the rooms ?

A lot of resorts don't provide internet or charge for it. And many others only provide internet in common areas. There is still a place for dialup. My DSL no longer provides a Dial Up backup so I went out and got a cheap dial up just for this purpose for when I travel and if my home DSL goes out from time to time.

Oh you are right about the above Dean. But this is Disney/DVC. I just figured all their resorts would be on the same page. Owners of most DVC resorts get free broadband in their rooms (not sure about HH). I would think VB owners might be a bit irritated by the fact they don't ? Their dues aren't cheap ?
But yes, we've not had internet in many other hotels we have stayed at. Our offiste timeshare (Vistana), does offer free wireless.
Regardless, I was told the resort is actively working on getting internet in the rooms. So hoping next year.
