Sometimes, while we are driving, we'll stop at a MacDonald's in late afternoon or early evening as in the USA they frequently have wifi (which makes searching for a hotel easy).

Speaking of McDonald's locations in the United States at the ones I have been to off I-75, they all had those Interstate hotel coupon books and those could be great when trying to find a place for the night.

we usually make reservations for the hotel on the way down but we do not make a reservation for the hotel on the way home..we routinely get to corbin ky
