Am I allowed to park.....leave (to hotel) and return but only have to pay once?

Yes, just keep that day's parking receipt (unless of course you are staying on-site, in which case parking is free - just show your resort ID)

I heard , though, that you may not be able to find parking later in the late afternoon. Is this something to consider/ worry 'bout?

If you already have a parking pass from whatever park you were in, you should be allowed back in during the afternoon hours..Tradition has it more people leave after 3pm then come in which opens up places on even the most crowded days. Only days I cannot speak for would be major holidays like July 4th, Easter, Christmas etc..those days the parking lots might fill up to capacity and stay full.

You can also park in any park you choose, it does not have to be the same park you left earlier in the day..You just show them your parking pass as you enter the pay stiles and they will wave you through..

If you are staying onsite or an Annual pass holder parking is free for you though...have fun...:sunny:

We have done it - your parking pass is datestamped and is good anywhere that day. However, we are daytrippers from local and rarely pay for parking. We make PS to breakfast at a hotel such as 1900 Park Fare at the GF, park there, and then sometimes skip breakfast. Not only do you save $$, it is much prettier taking the mono from the GF than dealing with trams, and easier for the little ones to change and hit the bathroom before getting on the road.

I would be afraid of having my car towed!

Edited to add: Okay, I didn't want to be the one to start this, but I can't help myself, LOL. I must say that if I were paying $$$ GF rates to stay there and then parking spaces were taken up by people trying to avoid paying $8 I would be pretty ticked off. I don't think it's fair to the people paying to stay at that resort for others to use it to park, taking up "their" spaces. JMO (You should probably start digging through your closet for your flame-retardant suit about now, lol.)

Thanks for the info! I did not know you can also "re-park" at ANY other location (we do not have AP or staying on-site).

question: If on our first day in Fl, and it will be a free day of shopping and roaming.....I would like to maybe have dinner at Fort Wilderness Lodge Buffet area.
Could I: drive to TTC....pay and park....take the ferry (for free) to Magic Kingdom....and then ferry over to FWL. Walk to Buffet area, eat and return home the same way. Could we do that? or is that too much and difficult. Just drive to FWL and bus in to the buffet area?

thanks:wave: :wave2: :wave2:

Hermosa11, I think it's a different story when you're wanting to eat at one of the resorts. I would just drive to Fort Wilderness and park there. (you did mean Fort Wilderness and not Wilderness Lodge right?) I wouldn't want to pay for parking if I didn't have to just to eat dinner. That's not the same, IMO, as parking at a resort, not having a meal, and going into the parks to avoid paying the parking fee! :)

I think you are right. I will just part at Ft. Wilderness and bus it into the buffet area. I did not plan on going into the parks on that day/night.

thanks!
just cannot wait...........

If you are eating at a resort (or just exploring for that matter) you can park there for free (as has already been explained) but I believe it is only supposed to be for three hours. That should give you plenty of time to eat, but I would definitely be worried about leaving my car there all day while at a resort.
