We are going as a party of 14 Oct. 1st- Oct. 10th..We are on the DDP and we have made all of our ADR's except 1. We are spending an off day at Downtown Disney doing DisneyQuest, shopping etc. We are doing lunch at T-rex OOP. My question is about Dinner, we would like to do dinner at either Downtown Disney or the boardwalk, but want to leave the option open to just decide while we are there. Has anyone had an success walking up to any TS restaurants at either of these locations?! TIA!!:thumbsup2

I'm not absolutely positive, but I believe Big River Grill and ESPN Club at the Boardwalk do not take reservations, but are on the dining plan.

DTD has a lot of TS restaurants so I'm sure something will be available. Half of them are not on the DDP so I can't imagine they'll all be booked solid.

If it's not a weekend night, Raglan Road at DTD can usually seat you, though they do take ADRs. They are 1 TS on the DDP.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe is also on the dining plan as a table service restaurant -- great food and probably could get seated without a reservation on a week night during off season.

Okay awesome.. we will be going on a Monday night.. Oct. 4th...so I'm glad for the suggestions!! Thanks all!! :) Is Planet Hollywood on the Dining plan?!

I don't know about ESPN, but Big River Grill does take reservations, you just have to call the restaurant direct. The number is 407-560-0253.

With a party of 14 going during free dining time, I'd go ahead and make an ADR somewhere though. That's a large party for a walk up, especially for during the first week of the Food & Wine Festival, when it's usually pretty busy.

OP: Planet Hollywood is on the DDP.

I've never been. The only reason that I know that is that my husband wanted to go a couple of years ago, so I looked into it. (I was able to talk him out of it!!!)

Is ESPN any good?

it's a sports bar/restaurant, as in they serve good bar food (which my family enjoys). the lines have always been long the evenings we've stopped, go early as possible

i don't like BRG at all (repeatedly have gotten wobbly tables, it's cramped & the brewery smell seems to be much stronger than other brew houses we've enjoyed over the years):confused3 Only reason we've eaten there is when staying @ BWV & ESPN line is too long & we're too tired to venture farther afield.

we can usually grab a table @ PH when we have trouble securing an ADR for a last minute trip, food is decent & it's fun to eye up all the stuff

Awesome thanks for the suggestions guys. I am an overplanner and would love to make an ADR now. But I promised this would be our down day, where we decide what we want that day! We may even end up splitting up and eating at different restaurants. I was reminded by my sister that this is a vacation and planning every last detail takes the fun out of everything! I don't know what she is talking about?!:confused3 :rotfl: It's on a Monday night in October... so I don't know how busy it will be. If downtown Disney seems busy in the morning, I will call and try and secure a ressie for the evening! It honestly doesn't matter to me where we eat there, so we'll just go and have a good time and hope for the best for that day! :thumbsup2
