Hello,

Does DVC work the same as regular Disney hotel rooms in that children under 3 don't count towards room occupancy? We are 2 adults and 3 children (7, 4, and 2) and I am looking into renting DVC points for part of our next stay. I know the kids would love staying at AKL (and I know we'd be pretty squished with 5 of us in a value studio, but we're used to all being on top of each other anyways ;) )

Thank you for your help!

Amy

The value studios are very cozy. Squished would be a major understatement. I'm trying to envision where you'd put the pack & play other than in front of the slider.

Would recommend a standard value as bare minimum for anything more than a group of three people.

if you haven't seen the layout there are videos on you tube, note only a portion of the values have a savanna view

Unless you are planning to commit 11 months in advance, you may not be a able to get a value studio. There are only a few of them and they almost always sell out right at the 11 month window. Best to plan on a standard and hope to get lucky. Most owners (virtually all) will not waitlist for a rental.

So does anybody know if you can in fact have 5 people in a room if one of the children is under 3?

A value studio is something like 60 square feet smaller than a standard studio, which is substantial when talking about hotels/villas There's also like 10 value studios (if that?) on the whole property so they're very hard to get. I tried last month to get one for October and was out of luck. FWIW, I ended up with a standard studio for less than $100 more, which will give us more room to boot.

yeah, studios in general were not designed for 4 and the value studios are the smallest.
