Hi everyone! New DVC member here going to WDW for the first time later this month :) (we're from ca so are Disneyland people). I thought that DVC members do not get free parking at the resorts, but was booking a tour this morning and told the cm I was staying DVC so she knew that. I used the DVC discount for the tour. We were talking about pros and cons of getting ap's as opposed to regular tickets and I mentioned we needed at least one ap so we could park free at the parks, and she said I get free parking anyway so not to bother. That all resort guests get free parking at the parks. Thought I'd better come straight to the experts, thanks!

Disney owned and operated resorts at WDW do not charge for parking. When staying at a WDW Resort, your resort parking pass gets you free parking at the theme parks. If you ever stay off property, your DVC membership does not get you free parking at the theme parks.

All resort guests whether staying through DVC or a regular hotel room get free parking at the parks. If you have days where you are not staying at a Disney resort and want to come to WDW you would have to pay for parking on that day. (this is more applicable to FL DVC members that drive in for the day or those who stay off property for a period of time during their trip.)

That is true!

All resort guests, DVC included, get free self parking at their resort and at the theme parks when they stay at a resort.

You have to pay for valet parking.

Hi everyone! A cast member (who knew I was staying DVC- I used the discount when booking a tour) told me that DVC resort guests get free parking at the parks which I don't think is true. She was saying I don't need to get an AP for that (we were talking about pros and cons of APs vs regular tickets). I'm a new DVC member who is going to WDW for the first time later this month, for 12 days (I'm from ca so Disneyland is my park) and am totally overwhelmed with everything there is to know so I thought I'd better come straight to the experts before I get my tickets :) thank you!

Everyone staying on site at WDW in Florida gets free parking at the parks. It does not matter whether you are a DVC member or not. As long as you are staying in a Disney resort on site, you get free parking. If staying off site, even if a DVC member, you pay for parking with one exception being those with annual passes, who get free parking at the parks even if staying off-site

Whoops sorry! I tried posting this yesterday from the app but it said the request timed out-- I'll go read those replies, please disregard this one, sorry again!

Thanks everyone! I got the wrong end of the stick on that one one early on. There's a lot to know!
