Just checking some flights to Savannah. Wondering how I know whether I have to actually change planes or not.

The flight I am interested in goes from Bos to JFK on an A320. Then there's a 42 minute layover and then JFK to Savannah, also listed as A320. Just want to be sure I wouldn't be getting off the plane, I'm assuming it's just a quick stop...but how do I know for sure?

Thanks!

Does the flight number change for the second flight, or is it the same? I would assume that you will be changing planes at JFK.

Day of the week and specific flight numbers/times would make answering this question much easier.

The flight numbers do change.

Its for Tuesday, 4/19, flight 917, then changes to flight 841.

So I'm thinking that where the flight numbers change, it means a change of planes. Can anyone confirm?

Usually that's exactly what it means. If the destination of your original plane is your destination the flight number won't change. Now the only exception is that your plane is going to your final destination and it's a new origin from JFK to XYZ. If that's the case, you will still need to get off the plane so the ground crew can prep it for the new departure.
