Quick question about having tickets mailed

Hi all

For some reason I cannot read the board tonight, I can just post.....very strange. Anyhow, forgive me if this question has been asked and answered 1,000 times already. Normally I would do a search, but obviously tonight I can't.

We leave 5/7 for our trip. We're going to buy a 7 day Park Hopper for my Mother, and PAPs for me, my DH & DS.

Finally my question: If I order the tickets online, are we still going to have to wait in line at the park to activate our PAPs? It's been several years since we bought APs and I cannot recall. If so, am I correct that we're just as well off buying them when we get thererather than buying them onlin?

Also, are the PAPs good from the date they are mailed to me by Disney, or the date we activate them at the park?

You should be receiving a voucher in the mail and you will have to go to a ticket window to have it activated.
I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure the pass doesn't start the year until you turn in the voucher.
If it did I would certainly wait until I arrived to purchase the pass though. Do you have a disney club card?? If so you can get a discount and every little bit helps.

AP and PAP are activated when you turn in the voucher at the parks and not when they are mailed.

I don't know where you are staying, but if you are concerned about the length of time waiting in line consider activating the voucher (or buying the PAP) at guest relations at the international gateway entrance to epcot (by the BC/YC and BW)... there is rarely a line there.

Thanks for the replies. I guess we'll just wait till we get there to buy our tickets. We're staying at OKW for the first 5 nights, BWV for the second 5 nights. Darned shame I didn't make the ressies the other way around cuz you're right, the lines at the International Gateway are typically very light. Oh well.....
