Quick Question About Getting To Epcot

wow ..... I am confused ..lol
I guess i will do the monorail from the poly since i wanted to check it out for our next trip. Thanks people. we are leaving in 16 hours.yah:banana:

Just in case you don't know, the monorail will be going clock-wise and will go TTC, Poly, GF, MK, CR, and back to TTC. The Epcot monorail goes TTC to Epcot and back to TTC.
If you plan to have a cocktail at Epcot, that monorail ride back to the GF is fun!!! :smooth:
Have A Great Trip!

For the OP, my original post stating it would take almost an hour is a worst case scenario. But I wouldn't plan it taking only 29 minutes as Robo has posted if you are trying to make an ADR.

Sorry, I can't agree.

Ride from GF to TTC - 15 min.
Ride from TTC to Epcot - 14 min.
Even if you wait a bit for the monorail at TTC, it will not take almost an hour.

As you can see, I said you must add wait time for the monorail (if any.)
I was simply posting what are the usual running times of the monorail.

Here's the listing from the (always "over-estimated")
Transportation Calculator.

http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Bus to Epcot® : 17 mins.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Monorail to Transportation & Ticket Center
Monorail to Epcot® : 42 mins.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Bus to Disney's Polynesian Resort
Bus to Epcot® : 39 mins

Can it take an hour?
Sure.

Will it LIKELY take an hour?
I doubt that very much.
I've made these runs dozens of times.
I've even recorded them on video with a running timecode.

Should you leave early?
Always a good idea.

When was the last time there was a bus from GF (or Polynesian) to Epcot? There has been no bus service for quite a while (10+ years?).

BTW, That web site also shows a bus between the TTC and DTD.

I would take the monorail to the TTC and transfer to the Epcot monorail. It's such a great experience to zoom by SSE and over the FW section, then to loop back to the station.
It's fast and convenient. :)

I love riding the monorail to Epcot. Going through part of the park is the best part!

Wait so there is no bus? I'm really getting confused. come on people help.........i'm leaving in 8 hours and 45 minutes. lol

If there is a bus, take it, if that's what you want.
(Although I don't think there is.)

If you want to ride the monorail, take the monorail.

If you want to drive, do that.

If you want to take a cab, do that.

Pick your favorite option, and have a good time. :thumbsup2

Here you go, you can ride the monorail from the TTC to Epcot on YouTube.
This is the driver's view.:drive:
Do yourself a favor and take the monorail.
If you don't, you'll be missing one of the main reasons for staying at the GF! ::yes::
Plus, you can go to the Rose & Crown and have a Glow-tini (or 2) and not worry about driving!;)

There is a bus from GF to EPCOT. Believe me, I've taken it, as it shares an EPCOT bus with the Poly. It's the fastest way. I'm not sure why there is any confusion, as the questions have been answered multiple times now.

Well, I'm not exactly sure about GF, but I know that I would rather walk to the parking lot than wait for the bus. We always drive and found it to almost always be faster than any other method (except when going to the Magic Kingdom).

I tried to do this exact thing last Tuesday. We were at DTD and needed to be at Epcot by 5pm. We left DTD on a bus to the GF at 3:30pm, got to the GF and the monorail had broken down, go back to the bus station adn there is no bus that goes from GF to Epcot, go inside to Concierge the great CM there told me to tak a boat to MK and then a bus to BW and then walk or a boat to MK and then a bus to any other resort and then a bus to Epcot. Of course by this time everybody was waiting for hte boat so we had to wait for the fourth boat to come in which then go to the Poly and then to MK. By this time (about 1 hour later) we saw the monorail running again so we got on it and took it to Epcot. Our whole journey took about 3 hours, we were 1 and half hours late for our ADR at Coral Reef. Fortunately my parents were waiting ther the entire time and we still had a table. So as of 8/21/07 there was no bus from GF to Epcot.

just my story....It was a LONG trip when it is 95 degrees outside.;)

Here is the sign at the GF bus depot

That is why there is confusion.

Oh well. I suppose they eliminated the route. From the WL we used to take the bus to EPCOT, and it would stop at Poly and then GF before heading to EPCOT.

If it is eliminated (we have had bus drivers take us where we needed to go if they weren't en route anywhere else; never hurts to ask), I'd definitely drive to EPCOT from GF. That 2-monorail route takes forever.
