Hello...

We're planning on buying ds3 a 10 day hopper myw ticket for this and the next trip. Do those extra days expire on those tickets? And also, is there a cheaper place to buy them than the advertised price? DH and I both have APs that we bought when ds was only 2. Now he needs a ticket too. I know these are rookie questions but hopefully someone can help. :)

Thanks,

Beth

Yes the unused days on MYW passes expire unless you purchase the no-expiration option. We get our passes at SOG, but if you're not eligible, I think ticketmania or the other ticket discounters give a slight discount over gate prices.

We also bought our APs when DS was 2! And now we're trying to figure out what pass to get for DS. We thought we'd get him an AP and go back soon....but that all depends on if I get pregnant or not. Our trip is in May so we've decided to wait to make our decision until then. If I'm not pregnant by our trip, we'll get an AP for DS, and we'll also purchase the DDE. If I am pregnant by then, then we will not be able to afford a WDW trip again so soon, so we'll get him the stars and stripes pass from SOG.

Do you have to be active duty to stay at SOG and purchase discounted tickets or can you be a veteran?

You can also work for the Dept of the Defense and stay at SOG.

Make sure you can purchase the 10 day ticket. You may need to get it ahead of time. We tried to get them in early Jan and the best we could get was a 7 day ticket.

Thanks, DH is a vet, and it's a shame that they didn't consider them when making the rules for SOG and discounted tickets. I AM glad that they did consider our heroes who are currently in the armed forces and who have retired from there..... :goodvibes

The agreement is with the Dept of Defense and Disney. So DoD made the rules for retirees, current military and civilian employees (that is who they represent). I work for the VA, and I am not entitled to DoD benefits either.

Like I said before, I'm glad Disney and the DoD saw fit to give our military personnel (and retirees, etc) discounts. DH doesn't get a discount for being a vet and I'm ok with that. Was just curious was all. Thank GOODNESS we found these boards and all the good discount tips, sites, etc on here so we can still go to WDW!!!
