can you use max pass to book fastpasses during magic morning or only during regular park hours?

Is it a waste to use our magic morning to get into DLP early just to book our RSR early if that's not even possible.

Reportedly you can book FPs once you scan in at a park, even if you are being held at Main Street/Buena Vista Street; I follow Disneyland Daily on facebook and she has done this multiple times.

But for RSR, those FPs don’t disappear as quickly anymore, now with GotG. Of course if you want to be on first thing in the morning you would need to get them ASAP, but if you just want them sometime that day, then you don’t need to go crazy booking them first thing in the morning!

Thanks that helpful. We are going Christmas week so I'm
Expecting everything to go fast.

Yes, you can pull a FP during magic morning, the return time won’t be until official park opening though.

And even during the busiest times, RSR FPs won’t run out until 10 or 11. And honestly, going during Christmas week will probably give you more of an advantage in terms of FP and Max Pass. Because APs tend to be much more savvy when it comes to utilizing FPs, and APs are blocked, you’re working with a crowd that may not even understand the FP, let alone the new Max Pass.

By the way...certainly not insinuating that these visitors CANT understand the system, but I don’t think it’s a big surprise that APs probably know the system much better.

This makes total sense, but then again here I am a total newbie reading and reading everything I possibly can to make the best of our trip which I'm sure many other newbies are too. But one can hope that all this reading and youtubing and asking questions will pay off for us!

It will. I still think most people don’t prepare as much as they should for their trips, especially first trips! I had a friend recently tell me she was taking her boys for the first time...in TWO WEEKS. She hasn’t planned anything! I made them a basic itinerary and showed them how Max Pass worked and explained the best places to watch shows/parades/tree lighting, etc. I only wish someone would have done that to me for my first trip, I was totally lost!!

I'm going in 2 weeks, this is only my second time at Disneyland, so it's my first experience with MaxPass. I don't even know where to look to figure out how to use it correctly! :confused3

Yes, you can. I've done it for the past two weeks before the official park opening time.

Yes, twice on our last trip we entered disneyland at 9am, DCA didn't open until 10. We booked one FP at disneyland that had immediate return time, and then either RSR or GOTG.
