Quick Lunch at MCO?

I usually don't spend a lot of time at the airport - mostly because I am ready to hit WDW! However, we are travelling with another family this time and we all have kids who will be starving by the time we land. Since we have to wait for luggage anyway, I thought we'd hit the food court or something else.

I don't really want to sit down at the airport, just a quick grag n go, fast food thing will be fine.

I know the main food court has like a Burger King, Pizza something and I think I read a Zyng's Noodlery (?) and a Macaroni Grill. Anything else there that I am missing?

Anyone care to recommend anything else?

The food court has McDonald's (Burger King is by the gates), plus Arthur Treachers, a hot dog place, the noodle place, a Chik-Fil-A, and a deli type of counter, as well as Krispy Kreme and an ice cream place. Any of them would be good for a fast lunch. For sit-down, besides Macroni Grill, there is a Chili's Express. We ate at Macoroni Grill and were worried it would take too long, but if you have a flight to catch, they will definitely speed up the service.

There is a food court on the main terminal floor, also some places in the gate areas.

Point to Ponder:

DD and I flew into MCO late this January. We went straight to Baggage Claim, with only a very quick br stop, and our luggage was already there. In fact, it was there so well, somebody else had picked up one of DD's bags, and left theirs in its place! (Luckily, their cell # was on the luggage tag, and we reached them before they got out of the airport area! Not very gracious about it, either, but that's another story for another day)

I hear that this is a common occurrence, and MCO is really good about getting the bags on the carousel quickly. I'd hate for DD's experience to happen again.
:earsboy:

That happened to me once. An older couple picked up my bag. I noticed because my luggage tag is my business card and I saw my company logo. I ran over and said "you have my bag". They said "no, ours has a red ribbon". I said "mine has a red ribbon, look at my business card tag here". The man then yelled at his wife! Lots of people use red ribbons, so I changed mine to yellow and blue (my high school colors!). Not too many have that combo!

Well you all must have the quick handlers then because we have always waited an eternity for our bags and they have always been in the middle of the pack or the latter part of the bags loaded on the carrousel.

I am not talking about sitting down for a leisurely meal. We're talking food court with kids. I am sorry some of you had problems but not everyone does. I was only asking for input on food, not baggage handling problems. We can start another thread on that subject if needed.

There are a ton of places to grab a quick bite at the food court at MCO. DD's favorite is Sbarro--the pizza place. There are several hamburger places, several oriental type places, a couple of delis. You should have no problems finding food for the kids.

The only reason I even mentioned it (the baggage thing) is that I know from personal experience how long it can take for kids to eat, even teens, not even taking into consideration everybody deciding what they want.

I am sorry if you thought my response inappropriate, I was only trying to help.

TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION there are more than enough choices in the food court to satisfy your family.

My luggage beat me to the carousel and I only stopped for a quick bathroom stop. I'd think a food court stop and there's a good chance your luggage will get there before you. The airlines will take your luggage and put it in an office near baggage claim if it stays on the carousel too long but some people are concerned with someone taking their luggage.

ONLY GET FOOD FIRST if you aren't concerned with someone taking your luggage, either to steal or by mistake.

I am not trying to offend anyone. Sorry if you took my reply that way. It appeared that my thread asking about food was turning into a thread about people who steal/mistake your luggage. I guess I shouldn't have even asked what I thought was an innocent seeming question. I'll refrain from doing so again.

YOU'RE MUCH TO sensitive. Your question was answered. People chose to also warn you that you'll wind up in baggage claim after your luggage as been put out. If you have anything valuable you might want to get your luggage first. You can ask whatever questions you want but it's rude to complain if some posters give you extra information that you find extraneous.

If you want a complete list of restaurants in the airport go right to the official website
