quick LIVE report from CBR

Hot day today...Our hotest since coming in sunday.
Got a parking lot view in Jamica...Love it...If we had gotten
a room near the pool I would have flipped cause kids are in it all night long.
Crowds= Very managable. Seem to be getting slower every day.
Wait times are averaging 30 minutes
Longest we waited was 45 for Mission Space..We did stand by for this to see all the cool stuff in the queue line. Beautiful ride...
Test track was 60min wait..did fast pass and walked right on when our time came to go in.
Pirates was a walk on in the middle of the day. We had a 30 min wait for BTMRR for its last day in operation b4 rehab.
Splash Mtn was 10min with fast pass.

Transportation= Pretty bad..but getting much better every day.
This morning for b-fast at AK @ 7am we had 3 MK busses go by b4 an AK.
1st day we waited apprx 35 minutes @ 9am (peak transportation time) for a bus to MK..Was pretty sad ( we are the 1st stop too)
One night ...No Kidding....took about 55minutes to get back from MK ( think it was same day)....
All the parks and DTD seem like a 30min trek at least..

Its improving though thank god....

This resort is very nice. Seems that the islands arent as far apart as everyone is hyping them up to be..We can walk to Port Royale in 5 minutes. Very nice resort though.

weather= HOT ....very hot...Today is hotter cause the humidity is coming out. Aside from yesterday.....it seems to be raining almost every day from 3pm till whenever in evening then it will clear up...
I heard we are gonna get killed this weekend with a tropical storm of some sort.....yuckie!!!!

We went on an illuminations crusie last night with Mom2of2 and Judi from the boards....very nice folks....I was well educated with " the "stroller swap" thing going on.....saw the scrapbook u all are doing with it...cool idea...

any questions...Ill try my best to answer all ...Will be on tonight (wednesday) when we get back from dinner @ Cali grill & Pleasure Island afterwards....

llrain- we are going to be at CBR in Dec. and since I have had some recent knee surgery, I was going to fax in a room request for either Trinidad or Martinque(bldg 25 or 26)...what do you think?? I'd like to get close to Port Royale to avoid alot of walking. Also, it sounds like a "pool view" would be a bit noisy, huh?? thanks...

Martinique would be the closest to the food court. Also mention that you are recovering from knee surgery and I am sure they will try to get you into the closest building.

As far as being by the pools I never heard much noise from the quiet pools in the evening at CBR. When I stayed at CSR the quiet pool outside my room was terrible for all the noise. The view was great but I would never stay near that pool again.

I've read in several places (Birnbaum, WDWIG, DIS) that CBR has coffeemakers in every room. I want to believe this as I don't want to drag my coffeemaker along on my upcoming trip. I'd just feel better if someone who is staying there right now could confirm this for me. LOL!

Enjoy the rest of your trip and I hope it cools off for you. I went in June and it was my first summer trip to WDW. It will also be the last. I get enough heat and humidity at home, thank-you-very-much.

Did you LOVE the IllumiNations cruise?!?! I've done it 3 times. It's awesome!!

Aprille, there are coffeemakers in every room at CBR. No need to pack yours.

coffee makers yes they are here....If you are a flavored coffee drinker like me and bring your own flavored coffe....Do your self a favor and bring your own Filters....The resort does supply u with regular coffee already in a filter. I brought my own flavored coffee and do not have any filters..and really dont want to goto wal mart..Front desk says no to giving me filters.....the coffee maker filter you want to get is for a 4 cup "sunbeam" no model number i can see.....I have resorted to cutting the filter, emptying the regular coffee and filling with my own...hoping that it wont leak through...save yourself the headache....get filters...

Coconut postcards are still here ...and if you need this particular battery for your camera they dont sell it in Disney..Not even at a kodak shop,....Its the CRV3 battery...So stock up on them for your trip...Im going through 8 AA batteries a day for my Olympus c-740...( thats 2 changings a day)..

SafetyMom, whats this resort thats Non disney that they are building across the street from the CBR....they are saying that Disney doesnt own it and wont sell them the land...>

Saratoga springs looks NO way close to completed....wasnt it supposed to open early next year.

I think it is supposed to be a Fairfield resort. It is a shame that it won't be Disney. I tried to find out about it when I was down there the last time.

Thanks, safetymom & llrain! And thanks for the suggestion to bring filters. I will definitely be bringing my own coffee and hadn't thought about filters.

I'm even more excited about staying at CBR now. Cathy at DU got me an AP discount this morning. $89 plus tax. Woohoo!

Aprille-what time did you get your rate?? I was up at 3:50am in order to call in starting at 4 and wasn't able to get an AP rate for our trip in Dec. at CBR. I could have changed over to POR, but the kids wanted to stay at CBR. Oh well, I guess I'll just start calling every few days and hope a cancellation occurs...

bapcap - Our dates are Nov 2-7 and I didn't even have to call for our great rate! My DU agent (Cathy - you go, girl!!) emailed me at about 8:10am CDT with the new rate info. I originally booked with a AAA discount (20% off rack rate), transferred it over to DU, and Cathy got me the AP rate this morning. (40% off rack rate). Woohoo!

This isn't the first time she's done good by me. She and lots of other DU agents were very busy bees this morning. Thank you, one and all!!!
