Quick Kutz Question?

Hello all. For those of you who own a quickutz or just got one from the HSN special I have a couple of questions.

1. How long did it take to "break in" the dies? I'm used to Sizzix and
immediate gratification.

2. For those who got it from HSN did you happen to notice "rust" on the
inside mechanism of arm? it specifically states it should be kept away from
moisture to avoid possible corrosion, yet mine has some rust on it!

Even though it was a great deal, I don't want to end up with a subpar
quickutz. Where the warranty will be void because of the rust!

Any suggestions?

What do you mean by breaking it in?
Once I put the foam on the dies I was ready to use it. The handle never gets easier to use. (one pit fall of this tool!)
It shouldn't have rust any where and I would call them and return it!
I do think some of them delicate dies you need to work with them. Sometimes you turn the die to get the best cut.

I got mine as the TSV on QVC back in January. As soon as I put the foam on the dies, it worked no problem. And mine did not have any rust on that. I would sent it back to them.

Diana was using hers like a pro right away. She was sweet and let me try it out, I thought it was very easy to handle.

I called QVC today, and absolutely they will send me another one when I return the one I have. I even took it out into sunlight to make sure I was looking at it correctly. Definately rust.

The Customer Rep assured me they had them back in stock and exchanging would not be a problem.

be warned, it's an addiction! I started out with just one alphabet and like 3 dies... I think I'm up to 4 alphabets and I don't even know how many dies. but it's so much fun. And most online places sell the dies at 30% off. maggie

Maggie! How right you are! mind you, I LOVE my Sizzix. But I finally got around to trying Quickutz after ordering the new dies from CrazyScraps I think I'm hooked!
I got the Wand & The Castle and just ordered the Stamp and a Tiara! Yikes!
Hope QVC sends it back ASAP!

When does QVC have a show on scrapping? Was it a good deal for the Quick Kutz?

I ordered it back in January, they had a scrapbook day. The reason I bit the bullet was because they offered "flex-pay" so it hurt a little less and the general feel on the boards was that it was indeed a good deal.

If you type in quickutz in the search area you will see what I got in my package.
The exclusive CK alphabet was also a determining factor. Now i'm just bummed I have to return it and wait for another one!
