I am a ride chicken. I can only do back pack rides...you know the kind of ride where you don't have to put your stuff in a locker. Today I rode Kong and LOVED it. Of course I'm not a thrill seeker. For me the ride felt like I was immersed in a video game. Just enough excitement ...not too scary. The car bumps you around but it isn't too intense at all. The people around us seemed to love it too. My daughter, who is a coaster lover. She loves ALL coasters. She said Kong was good, but she was "over" the screens. It was one and done for her. Either way I think its worth experiencing if the wait isn't too long. I wanted to ride again. My son loved it too.

We didn't enjoy it. We felt like it was pretty lame and we were bored. The ride stopped a few times and they offered our car a second ride and nobody went.

Ya- I could see how you might not enjoy it after that experience. Also @Jess30 a lot of the time when the ride is stopping like you described, the hydraulics won't work properly during the scenes. There should have been lots of movement in the vehicle at all three scenes as well. Without that, it would be way less thrilling and not nearly as enjoyable and seem more "lame". Everyone has opinions, but yours is likely (rightfully) tarnished due to lack of execution on the rides end. Maybe give it a go next time and see what ya think (similar to gringotts- which most people thought was underwhelming when it first came out and had several technical issues).

I, too, thoroughly enjoyed it OP. Not my favorite ride ever, but extremely enjoyable. And knowing about how they did it with the tech just made me appreciate it that much more. And the clarity and size of that last screen- wow.
I'd rank it as my 3rd or 4th favorite ride at universal. mummy and gringots better- and maybe Spider-Man.

I thought it was a decent ride....but it is not a thrill ride. It reminds me more of the "classic" UO rides, like Jaws, Kong and Earthquake.
They may have done themselves a disservice bu not building it in UO - not sure it fits in IOA

I rode it several times and really enjoyed the quality of the 3D and found it enjoyable.

Also if I had waited 30-60 minutes (in the 90+ heat least week) for it and it broke down a few times I'd probably not have done it again and would have been unhappy with it as well

I enjoyed it. DH didn't. So we didn't ride it again. DH says the much shorter version on the tram tour at Universal Hollywood is better.

We liked it.........

But, after 10 rides.......we were done........it's good but not great.........loved the real Kong at the end.

We waited maybe 30 minutes with our EP, and it was HOT. I suppose all of that definitely soured our experience as well.
