Quick Ipod Mini Question????

Does anyone know if the Ipod Mini 2nd Generation (blue color if that matters) will work on a computer WITHOUT SP2? I'm checking into getting one for DD on EBAY, but I don't want to get it then realize we can't use it. We do not have SP2 yet, long story. I know the new Ipods need SP2, but this one is no longer available at apple. So I was hoping this might work.

this is a stupid question im gonna ask but what is SP2?

It's Service Pack 2. Microsoft put it out last year, I think. We don't have it b/c everytime I try to do it my computer does wierd things, so I give up!

According to the apple download page , here are the rquirements:
iPod mini Requirements:
Macintosh or Windows PC with Firewire or USB port (USB 2.0 recommended)
Mac OS X v10.2.8 or 10.3.4 or later (Mac OS X 10.3 - 10.3.3 is not supported with USB)
Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or Windows XP Service Pack 2
iTunes 4.7 or later

I know very little about Windows (other than having to use Windows at work, but there is someone at work that takes care of the computers). The only Windows computer we have at home is the one my non-speaking DD uses for communication. And we don't go on the internet with that one or load anything on it because each time we have, it does weird things and has to go back to the experts. All our other computers are nice, well behaved, obedient Macs that don't cause any problems.
