So, to my eternal delight our trip suddenly changed for 5 nights to 6. We'll be arriving on 9/10 lunchtime. I plan on letting the kids swim and then we'll go walk around Downtown Disney (a first for ALL of us in the party of 7 can you believe it?!) before dinner.

So... dh was thinking he wanted to eat there in downtown Disney... (oh, and we are on the Dining Plan like a LARGE majority of people right now!)

I looked at the menus of Wolfgang Puck, Ragalan Road and Cap'n Jacks. I'm leaning towards Cap'n Jacks if we ate in DD...

But I've always wanted to try Boma. We'll have our car... would it possible to get an ADR there at this late day?

ANY thoughts?

Oh the rest of the week:
Mama Melrose
Concourse SteakHouse
Chef Mickey Breakfast
Le Cellier
Kona Cafe

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boma is awesome! Give it a try! :cheer2: :cheer2: Well worth the drive.

Boma is a bit different. It's also something that isn't in every single city out there. Some people end up hating it. But I always say give er a try and see what you think. We liked it and would return. Loved the soups. The Salads we thought they could keep, and we loved the main and side dishes.

I ended up having dh go through and help make a short list of 4 he'd like to try after he checked out reviews etc. So calling this a.m. to see what I can get... unluckily Boma didn't make the list (so sad) but with a picky MIL and three kids I decided I save that for a future trip.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Did you check out Rainforest Cafe in DD They are both kid and adult friendly? Our children loved it! It's nothing equisite but its a good meal ! And beats Fast food! Or you could goto to LBV area which is minutes from downtown disney if you have a car! There are lots of restaurantts there! There a Chevy's, Pizza place, Chinese Restaurant, Olive Garden, Sizzlers , Denny's and whatever else I may have forgotten! Also quite a few discount shops there also! Hope this helps!

Try again to push Boma. Point out that some of the exotic-sounding choices are actually items they eat all the time. Case in point: Kool Slaii = Cole Slaw

Ah heck... I'm going to try for Boma... I have never even been out the AKL and that is my 'dream' vacation to stay there.

Now, does anyone know how difficult a peanut/ treenut allergy will be there? I have Brenda's email addy etc and will contact her of course... just wondering.

Oh, and we're on the dining plan. :D

Thanks so much for the input.

We just returned from Disney. We liked Boma's ok, but weren't all that impressed. We tried all the different foods. It was a good experience, but I don't think we will be going back. On our Downtown Disney day, we ate a Wolfgang Puck's. Excellent food and service (and a great deal for the dining plan). It was one of our best meals at Disney. Everyone thought their food was great. I saw that you are going to Concourse Steakhouse too. That was another one of our great meals. I think either way you go, you'll have good food. If you are wanting to go to AKL and look around, etc then go to Boma's while you are over there. We love AKL. It is an awesome resort.
