O.k. So I just now got an e-mail offer with a code for moderates at WDW. Here are my questions...
1 - It says it's good through mid-April, but at the bottem it said there were available rooms with this code through July and we're planning for the first of June. It also says it's good Sunday through Thursday...does this mean that if I arrive on Wednesday, June 1st that I'll have to pay a different rate over the weekend and then go back to the code rate the next Mon and Tues? I thought the rate your first evening was the one you kept the whole trip. Am I wrong about that?

2 - Is the rate of $104 plus tax good for the first week of June or does it get better with other codes later?

3 - It doesn't say how long I have to jump on this - does it mean like today or do I have a little while? I REALLY wish this had come at least after the holidays. The thought of giving Disney over $100 right now sounds yucky with Christmas to provide, ya know? What are my chances of this happening again or does it happen all the time? I've never heard from Disney before personally.

Anyway, thanks for any answers you can provide! I'm so excited! :Pinkbounc

e-mail or snail mail codes are RARE and few and far between. I would call them and ask them your questions, they will help you. Smile, you just won the WDW lottery!

I'm relatively new here and have been reading about these codes. What are they and how do you get them?
Thanks!

E-mail codes are a "gift" disney just sends out at there own will. Unfortunately we can't sign up for these kind. You go to www.disneyworld.com and sign up or register and maybe someday the disney god will smile on you and you might get one. :cool1:

Other codes: AP Rates Codes = if your an annual passholder you get a discount sometimes and special rates might be announced for discounts at the resorts. GENERAL PUBLIC CODES = just a code disney puts out in paper or magazine with a discount for resort rates.

We are all at the mercy of wdw gods for the "next" set of codes. mky princess:

neunertrip,
Welcome to the Dis  ! I will try and answer your questions the best I can.

Codes are a set of letters (usually 3) that offer discounts on Disney Resorts (selected at times and also only apply to a certain number of rooms) during various times of the year.
There are a few different places that one can get codes from. A lot of times there will be an ad in the travel section (Sunday paper) for WDW that says resort savings and in smaller print towards the bottom will be a 3 letter code. Sometimes people can get a random e-mail code (I have gotten one) or mailed a postcard (amazingly I have gotten many of these). Both the e-mail and postcard codes are usually non-transferable. Also Disney does offer Annual Pass Members (AP) discout codes...these are not a gaurntee, but are often really good deals. Also if you are a member of AAA they have discounted rates available as well.
Those are the main way to get codes. You might check out www.mousesavers.com they have a chart that has historical codes on it and when they were released and good through. Here is a link to the Mousesavers page on Discounts at WDW Resorts http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#codes

Hopefully, that helped if you have any other questions please post.

I got the email offer with the PIN number for moderates at $104 + tax.

"* Rate valid most nights Sunday - Thursday 2/17–4/16/05. Advance reservations required. The number of rooms available at this rate is limited.

Additional charges apply if more than two adults (18 or older) per room.
No group rates or other discounts apply. Offer is nontransferable.
Additional dates available 4/17/05 - 7/4/05."

The weirdest thing is that the email starts with "Dear Robbins family"...Robbins is my maiden name which I haven't used in 20 years. I've certainly never made a disney reservation using that name. Very spooky stuff!

Also, I've never seen Disney offer different rates for weekend nights versus weeknights (except for points at DVC). I'd be interested to see what the Friday and Saturday night rates are.

BTW, the rack rates is $169.00

What resort or resort type was this for?

As the previous poster said, it was $104 for "select moderates", specifically mentioning benefits of POR.

Ashleyrm...that's strange about the name thing! Mine was addressed to my married name. I have heard of this type of thing happening to others...things like getting relatives names on their emails and then not being allowed to use the code because their name on the credit card didn't match!

I may call and see what's up with the weekday only rate. DH said "no way" to my booking and sending them over $100 right before Christmas!

I got the same email. I didn't think it was an earth shattering deal but now you all have me rethinking....

I got the same email and at first was very excited because this was my 1st and thanks to the DIS knew it was special. But alas, I can't use it even though we will be there during the "additional dates available" period because we are going to be splitting our stay between SOG and AKL. We really have our hearts set on AKL, so we don't want to change to a moderate. I even emailed my TA at DU to see if it could be applied to AKL, but it can't. Oh well. Still hoping for a public code or AP code. :D

Hi! I just called Disney (of course the # in the email was not the 800 one and I used it anyway). The CM was a little clueless sounding, but I'm going with what they said. They told me I could make the reservation itself anytime until July but they wouldn't neccessarily hava rooms in that block left if I waited long. I also asked about the Sunday-Thursday thing and they said I could pretty much count on keeping the rate over the weekend of our stay but they had to say that in case they were booked solid and basically could get more out of us!!! Anyway, I'm going to try using the pin in mid-january and see if anything is left...probably not and I'll keep on hoping for codes in the paper soon!!! I'm going on June 1st and from what I've heard, $104 is a pretty decent rate for a non-AP person like me!
