Hi,
This will be my first attempt at a dining review. I love the reviews here, especially those with pictures, but DH totally objects to my taking pictures of food, so this will be opinion and text only. It will be quick.
We are DVC owners and this year have AP's. I convinced DH to take a quick (3 night) trip to BCV for the Flower and Garden Festival. Gardening is his therapy from a busy world and I knew he would love it. I was right :rotfl:
For this weekend we used the Tables in Wonderland Card for a 20% discount on our bill.
We ate dinner at: Rose & Crown Pub, Cape May Clambake at the Beach Club, the Biergarden in Germany and Via Napoli lunch in Italy. We also shared Caramel popcorn in Germany and had lunch at Sommerfest in Germany. We waited out a rainstorm at the new Tutto Gusto Wine Bar in Italy, waiting for our Biergarden ADR.

Rose & Crown Pub
I convinced DH to try the Scotch Egg appetizer and he enjoyed it very much. I was surprised, even the hard boiled egg was served warm. He enjoyed the mustard served with it. I did not have an appetizer.
DH had the Fish & Chips. He enjoyed it very much. It was hot, tasty and a nice crust. He finished it all
I had the Beef Sirloin Steak ordered medium rare. It was wonderful, served exactly as ordered. The seasonal vegtable was green beans and it was served with fried onion rings. It was cooked perfectly and I loved it a lot. This may have been my favorite meal of the weekend - not DH's, he liked it, just didn't love it.
I will defintely return, and he will as well

As we were not on the DDP, we were eating breakfast in the room.We were staying in a studio at the BCV's so we had a small fridge, a coffee pot, a microwave and a toaster.
We bought OJ, Enterman's donuts, banana's and I brought coffee from home. We did breakfast in the room. We were there 3 nights, 4 days and ate 2 lunches.
On our first full day we had lunch at Sommerfest. DH had a brat and I had a hot dog. We both chose no saukerkraut. Both were great and hit the spot for us. I enjoy this and will do again

On Monday evening we had ADR's for Cape May. I am not a huge seafood eater, but the menu on Allears looked good to me as well. DH was excited, he loves steamed clams and mussels.
We had eaten at Cape May many years ago and had not hurried back for dinner.
DH enjoyed this very much. He thought the clam chowder was very good. He enjoyed both the steamed clams and the steamed mussels. The carved pork roast met his needs, and he thought the pasta with tomato sauce was very good.
This was my least favorite meal of the weekend = but not bad.
I was disappointed in what was really available, versus what I was expecting.
There were no "Peel and eat shrimp" available and there was no roasted chicken either.
The garden salad was great. The ceaser salad was a bit dry. The potato salad was very tasty. I didn't have any of the seafood enterees including the crab legs. The beef tips were delicious, as were the ribs. I loved them both. I was totally satisfied, just disappointed that the two things I was looking forward to = the peel and eat shrimp and the roast chicken = were not available.
I will think about heading back soon.

We visited the Kumel Kache in Germany. I asked it they had fresh made caramel popcorn and they said yes. I asked for a small and we shared it. It was not fresh made, and I was disappointed in it. It was "tough" in my opinion and stuck to our teeth. I have read such great things here, and we did not experience that.

We waited out our ADR at Biergarden in the rain at Tutto Gusto in Italy. This is a great new addition to the Italian pavilion. It is "found space" during the renovation of Tutto Italia.
We talk with the wine Somilier " Michela" for a few minutes. Tutto Gusto has over 200 Italian wines and up to 25 by the glass at any time. They also have a menu of "small plates', but since we were headed to dinner we only had a drink.
It was great and we will be back in October

Dinner was great, especially if you were DH. We were a party of 2 and seated with 3 other parties of 2. It was very nice. We sat next to a couple from the UK who were both doctors at home. On our other side were a couple who were retired and living in the south. We didn't have a chance to speak with the couple on the far end of the table.
Dinner was very good - better for DH than for me. I don't really like sauges or German food, And I came here for him. But I had enough to be full. The beer was great :rotfl2: He would return in a heartbeat, I will go with him in the future.

We had a lunch ressie on our departure day at Via Napoli. It would be our only food of the day, based on our flight schedule.
We enjoyed it totally and we will be back in October.
We shared a salad for 2. It was fresh and delicious. I loved the dressing. We had bread and oil for dipping, which DH said he loved.
We shared a large pizza, half pepperoni, half Parma Ham. It was out of this world, and much to my amazement, we finished it.
Dh had desert, I am not sure what, but he loved it.
We shared a pitcher of Morretti Birra, and it was more than enough.
This was a great end to our quick weekend getaway!!

Thanks for sharing.

DH and I have our traditional arrival day lunch at R&C - we like the atmosphere and like to start the trip with a pint or two. :drinking1

Tutto Gusto seems like a great place to enjoy a glad of wine and a little something to eat. Glad you got to visit it and report back on such a brand new venue.

Say it aint so! No roasted chicken at Cape May?? That is one of my favorite things there!

No Roast Chicken!!! I was really looking forward to that and the Peel & Eat Shrimp.
We had a later ADR - 8:15 - and it was not busy at all. Maybe that had something to do with it.
Hopefully on your visit it will have returned. :)

I forgot to mention our Illuminations view. It was sprinkling when our beeper went off and we had decided not to ask for a patio table, but rather go to the outdoor viewing area to watch Illuminations.
Well shortly after we were seated the sprinkles turned into a Monsoon. The wind was howling and the rain was coming down sideways. Folks from the patio were flying inside SOAKING wet. I felt so sorry for them. It only lassted a short time, but it was enough to ruin their evening.
Fast Forward to dinner is over and it is time for Illuminations. We ask Paul, our server, and he escorts us outside. To our amazement, he escorts us to a table on the patio right at the railing, left vacant after the rain. It was a perfect view of Illuminations.
Such Fun!!!!
