Quick & Early Breakfast at DLH?

Does DLH have a place that serves counter service breakfast at 6 in the morning? I have heard of Whitewater Snacks at GCH and can't seem to see that DLH has something similar. Would Whitewater Snacks be crowded then (for Early Morning Madness on a Tuesday) or should we (can we?) get pastries from LaBrea the night before? When is the latest we could get a half-way decent selection of muffins or pastries there?

Is there a little store at DLH that sells 24oz type small jugs of milk or juice for our fridge?

Thanks!

There are no places open to eat at 6am that I remember, I would suggest getting items the night before from a bakery of your choice.

Yep, there is a coffee house (I think that is the name "coffee house") that has pastries, fruit, juice, water, coffee, tea etc.

We usually order room service the night before and have it sent up when we want. That way when we leave the room we are fed and ready to go, no wasted time. Plus I love room service.

Yep. DH got a mocha, hot chocolate, and a pastry from the coffee house around 6:15 yesterday morning before we headed to the park. Also, after 6:30, they started serving free coffee in the lobby of the Magic tower.

You can purchase 24 oz. sized milk or juice on Harbor Blvd. A couple of the good neighbor hotels have little mini marts. It is not a long walk outside the Esplanade, across Harbor Blvd. Of course the price is higher than your local market, but not as high as Disney.:tink:

You're smart to find out. We stayed at the GC and had trouble finding anything early to eat. I thought the little bakery in DTD or the carts right outside the gates would be open, but no such luck. We wanted to be at rope drop each day but never did find food on our way in. I'd handle that differently next time....

The little cafe is right by Goofy's kitchen - it sells cereals, pastries fruit etc- we usually pick some up the night before, and I send Dh back on a coffee run the next am whilst the kids eat!

As a Dad, i thank you. :thumbsup2

I'm always the one scrounging around looking for food in the early AM & then schlepping it back to the room.

Interestingly, ordering one of the "Big Breakfasts" via room service easily feeds 2-3....provides juice AND coffee....and is probably just as economical if you add up the ala carte purchases from the food courts. (Plus...no schepping)

I've done this twice at the Paradise Pier & like the fact that it's at our door at 6am (while everyone is in their PJs).

^^Me too. Everything tastes better when it's delivered by room service.

I like the room service idea. Where's the menu for that? So you order it the night before and ask for it to arrive the next morning by a certain time? That is awesome!:cheer2:

Does anyone know what the in-room coffee maker situation is at DLH? I thought I remember reading that they were available upon request?

We are staying in the Wonder Tower right now. We just called housekeeping and they brought us a coffee maker and coffee.

Thanks all! We usually aren't room service people, but I'm starting to warm to the idea for early breakfast. Splitting a full breakfast that is delivered to the door sounds like fun and we just need enough to get us through until 9 AM when we can get second breakfast in the park as a break.:lmao:

& from my trip report (room service from the Paradise Pier):

.......I don't DO room service. Tax/Tip/Delivery Fee....nope, not for me....ever. But Alec looks at the room service propoganda sheet & says "Dad, the Big Breakfast looks pretty good".....& dad contemplates the fact that we need to get up at 6:15am (& who the heck knows what might be open at that hour).....& we're walking thru DTD, not by MickeyDs... so what the heck.

A quick aside......And you know what??? It's a good deal. We split 3 scrambled eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, two pastries, potato/peppers/onions mixture, juice & coffee. Worked out to 8 bucks per dude (including tip)....& it fed both of us.

So before watching the the 6 disney channels on the PP TV & falling asleep, we put the little Room Service propoganda sheet on the door knob & they delivered it at 6:20am (10 min. after we got up).....so we were fed, clean & out the door by 7:15am. Because (as you know) cool disers ALWAYS are near the front of the line for DL MM opening.

note - I am NOT a room service guy either...but for a split bfast at 6am, it works. :thumbsup2
